This article brought back something that I did a long time ago. My wife and I had just gotten married, and she was working while I continued college. It was a local school, now a university, which had special parking for Seniors, pretty much right in the middle of campus. I was a Junior at the time.

I was one of the fools who fell into the Hisense trap last Thanksgiving, and I hate the damn thing. Great picture and sound, but the operating system sucks and the thing constantly forgets my log in information for the various streaming services. Other people I know with Hisense tv’s have the same problems.

Fiat 850 Spider. 850 cc’s of pure power. Felt like you were doing 100 mph at 30. Great little car until it rusted away.

This shows that you have never attempted to enter or leave a Caterham. Trust me. It is infinitely easier to enter one of these than a Caterham. In fact, it’s easier to get into one of these than it is an MGA. And there is more room in them, also.

Shit happens. Back in the day I was unloading new Fords from the truck. One came off the truck with “LTD” markings on the driver’s side and “XL” markings on the passenger side. The interiors were also marked that way. I guess the trim guys on each side of the production line got different orders somehow.

Don’t know if this will “paste” or not, but just came across this 1991 Suzuki Samarai on Facebook Marketplace for $12,000. The thing looks like the NP/ND car and is in equally nice condition. Looks like the NP/ND car was underpriced.

For those unaware, turtles are protected down here in Florida, and people go to great lengths to avoid running over them. They also go to great lengths to avoid disturbing their habitats, often to the point of re-routing a highway to go around one.

Seeing all of these iconic vehicles in this condition just makes me sad. This, to me, is not a collection but just a jumble of old, rusted cars that won’t be there much longer thanks to Mother Nature.

THIS!!! I was reading along, thinking about the Opel Rallye my wife and I bought off the showroom floor back in 1970, and suddenly I saw the picture with the slushbox lever.

Um, yeah. (Slaps self in forehead.) It was pretty late when I did this. Sory.

Yeah. Blew three holes right out of the block. They had to ship a new engine in from Japan.

A friend of mine already had this happen. New engine and a loaner car for several weeks.

This goes back a while, but sometimes in the late 60's or early 70's Ford started putting the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. GM persisted for years with the awkward turn stalk control.

I remember this! People would drive all over town looking for to save a couple of cents on a gallon of gas! Pretty sure that people still do this. I have never understood this.

Because this worked so well for Hummer.

Gee, I guess I need to dig out more “crazy truck driver” stories.

Been thinking about this all day. A friend of mine HAS a REAL Caterham, and it is a scary car (if you can get into it). To me, this particular “project” is just insulting to anyone who has the real thing.

May be comparatively slow, but still faster than driving in normal Vegas traffic most times of the day.

You could also call them “fire ant preservation doors”.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
