I really wish more websites let me get digests at the frequency I choose. For example, Bandcamp. I’ve bought music from a few bands there. I’m sure most users have much broader collections than mine, so it can only be worse for them. Every time one of these bands puts up new music, or new merch, or has a sale or a

Every August and September for the past maybe four years, I've told myself, okay, this October, I'm going to play Alien, and I'm going to play Dead Space. Either has yet to happen. But I'm sure that when the end of summer rolls around, I'm going to make that promise to myself again!

So does this mean that, for players who suspended the game, they got patched, lost their progress, then got unpatched? Sounds like a bitter pill.

Though I guess we could say this actually happened to Valve at the start of their world conquest. Orange Box gave us three new pieces of content: HL2Ep2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. I can hardly remember Episode 2, I think Portal is among the best games I’ve ever played, and Valve has probably made more money selling

Particularly if you remember that it was Fortnight Save the World (I think?) that was supposed to be the big deal, and the battle royale part was just a sweetener.

I don’t know much about this case, but from what’s written in the article, this seems to be day one of the trial, and, presumably, they’re still on direct examination. If that's right, and assuming this is in a US court, it was just Epic’s lawyer introducing the exhibits so that they can use them later. Procedural

Yet, here you are, on an article about how there should be a save feature, responding to a comment about how there should be a save feature, demanding that people learn to play the game your way.

I was wondering if maybe people do pre-release for video games differently in Japan than in the west. I know that if the demo was just, here are two areas, have at it, there would be an incredible number of videos and articles and comments trying to draw conclusions about the game from the smallest bits of the demo.

I'm going to have another go at Ace Attorney. I started playing it maybe a year ago, but I didn't like quitting in the middle of a case, so I had to make sure I had a pretty sizable block of time every time I played it. I had a couple weeks where I couldn't guarantee that, and it just fell off the radar.

I didn't expect much of it, but when I saw it was on Amazon Prime, I figured I would give it a go. It was fun! Not great, but I don't think it was striving to be. It delivered a spikey blue thing (without terrifying teeth) going fast, it had plenty of humor... I certainly don't regret the time I took to watch it.

I finally got around to starting Control this week, and I'm loving it. It's been on my list from the day of release, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I also got a new computer at the end of last year, and the effect of ray-tracing in that game is incredible. I can't tell you how many times I've jumped from

But at the same time, Hololens can be an incredible tool to save lives. It can be used to assist in surgery, to help firefighters see in smokey buildings or know where to safely cut cars, and even to keep drivers' eyes on the road instead of on their GPS or whatever.

One thing I hadn’t thought about before that’s related to this is that when you have an autonomous vehicle interacting with a human, you lose out on the non-verbal communication that governs a lot of stop sign encounters. I noticed this in the second stop sign of the “three in a row” video. It seemed like the AV

I just read a book called “Alt-America” that posits that the far right doesn’t respond to arguments so much as argument style, and as long as you act like you’re winning, you might as well be. The way to win there is just to pretty much be on the offensive all the time. I wonder how Trump’s last few months are playing

I haven’t seen either, so I can’t say it definitively, but that seems to really discount Sleepaway Camp.

So you’re saying they have cloacas?

Well, I was about to post “I’m sorry to say, but I think Alan Wake’s been de-listed. I’m pretty sure it’s due to a music license expiring,” but decided to fact-check it to avoid making myself look like an idiot again. Turns out I was completely right, except that it got re-listed! So go to it!

I’m sure Elon Musk is very excited about this.

This reminded me to check up on Miegakure, the 4D platformer that was featured in XKCD comic 721 (in case you’re wondering, today’s was 2338). Still not out yet, unfortunately, but it looks really pretty now!

What in the heck is that Toy R Us? It looks like concept art for a movie like Minority Report or I, Robot.
