I’ve tried to use Mint numerous times and it never goes well. I can’t get away from using plain-old Quicken - the easy register view and reports are just too appealing. Is there anything like Quicken that runs on the web? I’ve even considered just hosting it on a VM somewhere.

Are you talking about Yodlee “MoneyCenter”? It looks interesting.

You know you only have to upgrade Quicken every 3 years, right? Each version is sunset after 3 years.

I’ve been thinking of upgrading our routers. I currently use 2 older linksys routers to deliver wire/wireless throughout the house (which is wired). Are there any particular models of the Ubiquiti lineup you would recommend? Are they just as easy to setup as a linksys?

Thanks for the tip - I noticed CTRL+SHIFT works when running other programs as well (I use ConEmu). It even works with Launchy!

I’ve noticed a lot of enterprising folks will purchase things when they are deeply discounted them try to flip them on ebay for a small profit. I’m completely ok with this - the price is still lower than the store.

I’d argue scheduling in March is the right way to do it. You might pay the same dollar amount, but the installer won’t be booked out a couple months like they may be in August.

I just used the larger:10M command to find the largest emails.

Daniel Tiger: where all the women wear pants, and the men... don’t?

Good luck going to Flickr - I went back about a year ago. It’s 1TB of storage, but you can only (auto) upload, not download (i.e. no sync). So your phone uploads, desktop uploads (DSLR), but nothing keeps everything in sync or organized. It’s a very frustrating model.

On Linux I’ve been using M64Py as a frontend for Mupen64Plus, which makes setup much easier. It works, but I still find myself missing Project64 on Windows.

I think they are rolling it into the main Evernote plugin.

The care plan is 50% of the price of the phone, what a ripoff.

Keep in mind the most exciting Android app this week is a note-taking app.

Anyone mention Firefly yet?

Man, you are going to hate December.

There’s a documentary on PBS about beavers and how they can be helpful in drought situations. It was on late at night and I was hoping it would bore me to sleep. Instead I watched the entire thing.

I’m rather new to this, but I use the “Fit Cat” watch face. The cat’s supposed to react to your activity. It starts out as a fat cat, and gets skinnier as the day progresses (or in my case it just goes to sleep).

Just curious: Are you concerned because the ES File Explorer *might* do this, or because the app *has* (been caught) doing this. I always thought it was the app of choice, but I guess that was years ago since I checked. Things might have changed since then.

Do yourself a favor and get a gummy protective case. I bought one from Amazon, and it’s great: Bobj Rugged Case. I have the Android version, and it’s fantastic. I find myself using the tablets more myself, simply because it’s so much easier to hold in my hand.
