Ha, we wish. The next-gen Fit’s being discontinued for the US market. The odds of Honda making a Fit Si and bringing just that sole model to the US are slim (if not none), sadly.

I was actually in your spot too last year. I had wanted a fully-loaded hatchback with a 6MT. It was between a Corolla Hatch XSE, Mazda3 GT, or an Elantra GT Sport.

Trust me, this is a good thing for the rest of us. In the few cars I’ve driven that had auto highbeam functionality, they didn’t allow you to turn on highbeams manually unless you went into the infotainment to disable auto control. (Pushing the stalk outwards turns on auto highbeams and does not give you manual

BMW has previously told Car & Driver that their new designs are aimed at the Chinese audience, which prefers flashier looks over tamer styling choices. It was why BMW decided to enlargen their grilles across the board, especially on the X7.

Agreed. EVs make the most sense as commuter cars at the moment, as well as for shorter trips. For longer road trips, they’re a pain. And I don’t mean that in the sense that longer road trips can’t be done in EVs, but that they’re an annoyance to many of us who have zero desire to stop and take breaks for more than a

I don’t doubt you, but there are plenty of others (including myself) that just want to get to the destination as quickly as possible. E.g., I drive from ATL to MIA often and almost always do it in one shot (about nine hours of driving). Yes, I fuel up once or twice in between (and stretch + restroom use), but that

Hatchbacks relabeled as “sport crossovers?”

Good point on Genesis. Genesis is struggling to move their current sedan lineup (though, they *are* currently working on new crossovers/SUVs), but they don’t care because Hyundai has the capability to throw money at the problem until it goes away.

Tires affect cabin noise significantly, especially on economy cars. There’s a reason why there are separate categories of tires designed specifically for comfort/quietness (touring tires). These tires trade off performance aspects for ride comfort. On the other end, performance tires often trade off ride comfort for

Cars (both sedans and SUVs) keep trying to become sportier and sportier, especially with thinner tires. That just isn’t good for ride quality or noise levels.

Ditto. Mild hybrids are nice. I’m fairly certain that’s what’s powering Mazda’s new SkyActiv-X engines too, and those are available with manual transmissions as well (in case anyone is wondering whether hybrids mean guaranteed death of the manual).

I’d go as far as to say the Corolla Hatchback is beautiful, considering we’re talking about the same company that designed the modern Prius.

Duly noted.

Well, it’s easier this time around now that the PS4 is based on PC architecture as opposed to the PS3's Cell architecture that was godawful to port games over from/to (and so ended up having most games half-assed on the console).

This. Mazda’s own sales data showed that most folks buying a 6MT Mazda3 were opting for the GT hatchback, which was the highest trim before (which is now called Premium). I can’t argue; I also bought a new 6MT GT hatch a few months ago.

Don’t forget the MDX. The Acura MDX sells quite well. I certainly see plenty of them on the roads near me.

This is an option with the current-gen Mazda3 as well, and the other models in Mazda’s lineup (as part of the infotainment). Pretty nifty, though the volume of the indicators doesn’t really change too much. It’s a change from quietly audible to slightly more quietly audible.

Likewise. I recently picked up a new 2018 Mazda3 GT Hatchback with the 6MT. Absolutely gorgeous interior with great materials within the cabin for what’s supposedly an “economy” car.

Yeah, I got an email from Chase directly notifying me of this offer (with a link to activate included). So, the link above also worked for me. Pretty sure it’s targeted and only works for those invited.

Millennial here. Recently opted for a new Mazda3 GT hatch with the 6MT (though, the auto was also considered).
