Congratulations to you too!

So life update:

I dropped $700 on a top tier cordless Dyson after agonizing for weeks whether or not that was a ridiculous amount to spend on a cordless vacuum.

There's a lot of joy in a new vacuum. I totally get it. Mazel tic on the shark & the baby.

Makes sense. I hope you end up loving your Shark!

A Roomba! It's amazing, especially with a baby, to just hit a button and walk away and come back to clean floors.

I’ve had both. The shark is better. The Dyson is fine but the performance doesn’t really justify the cost. Cordless is totally worth some extra expense though.

Have you considered a Roomba or other self propelling vac? I feel like with having a baby, taking a chore off your plate is a great idea. I love Simon, even if I have to help him when he gets stuck under my recliner or on a heat register. Or the terrifying time he somehow managed to get over the sliding door track and

Shark! Any of the Navigators. Every Dyson I work with has a quirk that makes me wish I was using a Shark. Signed, a housekeeper

It might just be the belt broke. It’s a quick fix and much cheaper than replacing the vacuum.

Thank you! And I remember those days. The fatigue was just the worst, and the nausea. I’m glad you were able to soldier on through the exhaustion and make something that sounds just wonderful!

Both of my sisters have had Dysons and Sharks, and both say they prefer the Shark.

The use of a Dyson vacuum actually voids all of the manufacturer’s warranties on any new carpet installation. They’re pretty cool, but they're too powerful & too expensive.

Shark! Much cheaper, works great.

This week’s been NUTS. But in a weirdly good way.

Celebrating 420 as I type! Hi everyone! Does anyone else have holiday dread this weekend? You know, either seeing people you don’t want to, missing people, hating holidays, depression, the usual suspects. Me, 10/10 with this family I have of narcissists, enablers, and emotional vampires. At least we’re having dinner

It’s the Weekly Achievement/Good Deeds Thread! What incredibleness did you accomplish this week? Let us know here so we can revel in the awesome.

That’s the thing, if you push someone to decide quickly, they aren’t always going to make the decision you want. Find out you are pregnant at five weeks? You’ve got one week (maybe) to get an abortion. How many people might have later changed their mind in favor of having the baby that go ahead with the abortion

For me there was no way to prepare for having children. What I thought it would be like and what it is like are so different! The only pieces of advice I can offer is that if you are in a relationship with the father, put as much time and effort into making that relationship as strong as possible, both right now and

That’s very true! Just remind yourself, every time you have to tow a screaming baby/child out of a restaurant or movie and it feels like everyone there is giving you the stinkeye (they really aren’t) that ‘I am creating a fucking civilized being with this, goddammit it.’ Oh, and a sense of humor goes a long way, and
