OH! OH! ME! ME! Can I tell my Shirley Temple story? Of course, I’ve totally screwed up the punchline just by the subject, but here goes: 8 or so years ago, maybe 10, I was in the local market in Woodside, CA. I grew up in the area and I am in my 50s, so I’ve met a lot of people and I am pretty terrible with facial

Love Toni and Drew, but dying mothers?

i have never seen such a perfect example of “bless her heart” personified than in that serena williams bat pat.

Why would you have a white boy play a handsome Egyptian man?

Beer is meant to be savored as you unceremoniously guzzle it in liters and gallons and you should experience the libation from your lips all the way down (and out). Drinking beer with a straw is like eating food without chewing. I’ve spoken my peace and counted to three.

The Future Mr. Rams and I love our micro adventures. We supplement our yearly aventures with 3-4 adventures. I don’t know how people just vacation at the same place every year, I want to see something new. Even pretty regular stuff when its brand new to you is awesome!

I became disabled last year and have struggled with how to have adventures (as opposed to just traveling) again—my wanderlust is still healthy although my leg is not. I really miss it. I would love to see stories in Flygirl about how to have awesome travel experiences when you’re disabled!

Love this! As someone with severe wanderlust, I approve of micro-adventures. I’m in France right now for work (the type of work that allows me to spend a little time tooling around Gawker stories, obvs), and with an extra day, decided rather spontaneously to get on the train tomorrow and take a day trip to Calais.

I wasn’t a fan of his aesthetic, but that’s a real shame. 57 is too young. I feel for his daughter.

I love the minty smell of the bath stuff and I really love the almond smell of the wood cleaner.

If so, we are really bad at it as you outlive us on average by 7 year. Also, I seriously doubt we would do it via breast cancer, because even if the patriarchy hates women, it loves boobs.

It’s been suggested. More floods of tears ensue. I think that some of her problems with having her hair brushed stem from some sensory issues that have just been diagnosed. They’re being treated, and, well, she’s growing up and will soon be able to care for her hair herself. We hope.

My niece haaaaaaaates to have her hair brushed, and somehow she can manage to create a huge mat on the back of her head over the course of one two hour nap. Her mom has tried all sorts of things to help, but she also won’t let anyone braid her hair to keep it from tangling. I can get her to sit for me to brush it out,

This is a thing! One of my student teaching placements was in a very affluent school, and those little girls always looked like their hair hadn’t been brushed. I never saw that at my other schools. With one girl it honestly verged on neglect. Her hair had visible knots and the cuffs of her jacket were always dirty. At

Or because humans aren’t required to learn every single talent on the planet. Sorry if some of us don’t meet your standards of survival and proper equality. If it makes you feel better, I don’t know how to throw a football, nor do I care, but I can sew because that’s enjoyable.

New Zealand for me, I already look a little bit like a hobbit (hair on my toe knuckles and everything) so I think I’ll fit right in.

Her cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” makes me cry every time, to be honest.

The response I have formulated after 9+ years of being asked when we are going to “give” our daughter a sibling: “After three miscarriages it became apparent that my uterus is for decorative purposes only. But thanks for reminding me about the most painful and heart-wrenching experience I’ve ever had while also

I know an only child who was one of the most entitled, spoiled, demanding, selfish human beings I ever met. I know another only child who (literally) has devoted her life working with & saving sea turtles. She organizes charities not just for the turtles but other animal species in danger as well as shelters for
