Thank you for mentioning the Renn Faire connection. I have a few friends that have worked RF for years. I’ll have to check in with them privately and see how they’re doing.

I never understood that part of the movie. Maybe I’m dim but I just did not get the concept of “bend and snap”, and the musical number did little to assist me.

I don’t understand people like that any more than I understand people that take cruises.

Last year I got sick. I swear I didn’t get sick on purpose, but honestly, I’ve never enjoyed a cold more. Getting to sit home alone, watching whatever the hell I wanted, knowing I was getting great leftovers delivered to my couch and avoiding the political spat my FIL was sure to start....sigh.... that was a great

But finding the perfect traveling companion is bliss.

This was several years ago and if I remember correctly the trains didn’t run as often on the weekends, which of course we didn’t know at the time. We moved out of Korea Town and now we occasionally take the train from the station at La Cienega to the Natural History Museum (again, saves on parking) with no issues, but

Ooohhhh, I didn’t know they sold them at B&N. I have one near me, I’ll check it out. I haven’t gotten one of these candles since I let my Amazon Prime account go.

We live within walking distance of The Grove/Farmers. We go to Farmers because our butcher’s there and the kids love the pizza. Honestly we’re there at least 5 days a week for food shopping or eating. My biggest disappointment is EB’s bar has taken out all of the good beers I like. It’s was the one local bar that I

No, but I’m such a Contrary Mary, I’ve lived in LA for almost 30 years and have yet to put a toe on Runyon just because of the the kind of people that keep asking me to go there or told me they’re going/have gone there.

Have you done Baldwin Scenic in Culver City yet? Killer stairs, great view, yes the Hollywood sign, but still.

We once took the train from Korea Town to the Highland Hollywood center, thinking we’d save on parking, ha! It took 2 hrs, plus, we didn’t know that it stopped running after 12:30 and we had to cab it back, so yeah no savings there.

I want a Dr. Who death.

I don’t think “selfish” is where I was going, but to answer your question, no. If you want to keep your dress, for whatever reason; want to save it for your daughter, it brings you good memories, want to see if you can fit in to it after kids, go right ahead. But if the dress brings you pain or you just don’t really

I too am bummed. As a 50 year old I have very few people left with whom to talk make up, hair, etc. I’ve learned so much from this commenter base as well. Insert sad trombone sound here...

I’m glad I read your comment before commenting myself. I really hate the whole “trash the dress” thing. Donate the dress if you don’t want it anymore, for whatever reason. Come on, make some other brides day!

Another option to Ebates which I used to use, but then discovered the shopping portal for American Airlines. I rack up some serious airline miles using that thing. Fancy bitches like to travel. This time of year they run bonuses too, like spend $55o online and you get 2000 bonus miles on top of whatever you earned

I have some wine goblets that have been carefully wrapped and boxed up, barely used since they were given to us as a wedding gift 13 years ago. I finally told my husband that we are going to give away all of our cheap wine glasses and start using the good stuff. We don’t throw fancy dinner parties because everyone we

Yes, we could do a whole thread on scented candles alone if you ask me! Votivo is quality stuff. When Illume still had a storefront in WeHo I used to go there like it was a drug den or something.

OHHH that look’s like something I want to try thanks! Yes, I do like the Library series, although I prefer the Poe version to Jane’s. Also I can recommend the Travel series by the same maker. The candles burn long, but clean, and keep their scent to the end.

I approve of just about all of this, however, might I suggest the addition of a scented candle? Perhaps this Library themed set which includes a lovely Jane Austen scent.
