I am not questioning the posited facts. I would prefer a source who is not so obviously bigoted against Muslims and Arabs. Perhaps I should have been clearer. 

I am not positing that it doesn’t occur in any other family. And, yes, it is a Bedouin tradition which explains its commonality in Saudi Arabia and Jordan complete with the genetic issues that such engenders. 

Can you give me a source better than someone who is quite obviously Islamophobic and anti-Arab (given his other editorials)? I’m not saying you’re wrong about the Catholic Church but I need a more credible source than the one you have sent. Looking over his other entries had me feeling a little nauseated. 

I’m not Catholic and had the same reaction in the Vatican. Their art collection surpassed that of any museum to which I had ever been. Gold gilding, everywhere; luxurious doesn’t begin to cover it. Perhaps usurious would.
