$20k for a Maloo? Seems rich...

He notes that the bed liner covers the hole and that it doesn’t affect body rigidity at all.

Not without a Brock Energy Polarizer.

I like El Caminos, and I like that style of vehicle, but for that price with that list of issues... CP all the way.

It’s just a huge piece of Velcro that holds the front end together.

I’ve actually been pricing Maloos and can tell you this is a rip. Why?
1). Factoring in exchange rates, you should be able to pick one of these up with a good amount of change from $10k
2). Once you’ve got one, you can probably get a friendly ‘strayan jalop to load the bed up with parts (and some VB for authentic Straya)

I'll be Holden onto my cash, mate.

I would love to get my hands on an imported Holden UTE. Not this one and not for just shy of 20K. First strike is the automatic, seems a shame. Random hole in the floor, mods thrown at it, strike 2. The final nail is the price, not even worth the time to haggle.

Ha, thats nothing...back in ~2005 Land Rover was shooting a commercial at Stockton Beach, NSW Australia when they “lost” a Disco to the ocean. Except they didnt recover it and they also didnt report it. They got caught and fined when their vehicle washed ashore a few days later.

Oh, after getting to first two tow trucks (one little, one big) get stuck, it first involves two front-end loaders to grab them by each end with the bucket to scoop them straight up and try to lift them out out of the sand.

In that case, they’d need to shoehorn it outta there...

People that live where there are beaches don’t usually have to deal with salted roads, meaning they gotta resort to shit like this to get that beautiful rusty patina.

Tears of joy.  Tears of anticipation.  David’s rubbing his grubby hands together knowing that thing is gonna be a rusted out project in the near future...

Salt Life.

Are you kidding?  David is excited to buy this dumpster fire Jeep at auction!

I was honestly floored any car owned by David Tracy would have rust issues.

Does rust just follow you around?

Every single time I’ve ever blown a fuse, it’s been for good reason.

Why does every wrenching article on Jalopnik remind me of this Top Gun scene?
