From a white person’s inside perspective, I’ll tell you that a huge portion of that 70% can’t get past thinking they’re being personally attacked when the subject of racism comes up. The conversation just stops there. It takes a lot of work to get them to look at the bigger picture and admit that there’s a problem.

The Root really should increase it’s staff and operational budget like 10x or 20x.
