When I was regularly commuting on my old BMW R100S I actually got out of a few tickets because the cop was shocked I had a motorcycle endorsement,  and current insurance and tags. I probably helped that I wearing a work uniform.  Also this was when GTI stood for "get tickets in"

i did not know the Grecale existed , and i forgot the ZDX existed as well.  I honestly would consider the Aviator if i was in the market.

This is as surprising as a rainy day in Seattle. Uber was based on flouting taxi licensing and labor laws and exploiting workers. That Uber is further shortchanged drivers by lowering pay is totally on brand.

Stellantis is a money laundering scheme at this point right? I have no explanation for this.

A friend bought his dream Porsche 911. Can he drive it fast? NOPE. It’s a cop magnet. You want to go fast on the street? Buy something that is fast but looks slow.

The Hornet outsold the Mirage by 200 units last year.

Price. And wages not keeping up with price.

Serious question: what happened to car sales in the past 20 years or so? I just looked up the stats, and even the Neon sold more than 100K units every single year it was available, and more than 200K units in some years. Now it seems like a car that sells 20K units a year is considered a success.

The Dodge Hornet may well be the worst vehicle ever to wear the nameplate, and also the worst value in the history of the nameplate. The starting price is at least $6k more than it ought to be, and even if it sold for $25k, there are better vehicles to be had at that price.

My number of tickets has gone down drastically since I got rid of my BRZ. I'd argue I still drive fairly quickly in my Fit, but no one suspects the econobox hatch...

At Stellantis, we have no fucking clue what you want to buy, and frankly, we don’t fucking care, either. We’ll keep making cars hardly anyone wants to buy, and there’s no amount of logic or reason that will tell us otherwise.  Fuck you, America.

Jeep missed the point of the Wagoneer. They were rugged/luxury vehicles in the 80s. They are suppose to compete with the Land Rovers and Land Cruisers, not Suburbans and Expeditions.

Maybe people should spend a little more money on their million dollar car trailers and not get some trash that keep catching on fire.

They did the right thing AFTER all the bad press. They’d have been happy to not pay out and just have the story go away.

NO DETECTABLE MODS should be #1 on this list. I although I don’t weave, I do almost always speed by 12-18mph, yet haven’t been pulled over for decades. I attribute it to my pale complexion, well maintained earth-tone vehicles and above all — no noticeable ‘improvements’ i.e. tinting, lifting, lowering, exhaust amping,

Insurance makes sense for a $100K contest, but I’m surprised a dealership that can afford a $15M donation would bother with insurance for a $5K prize.

I’m not talking about every situation. Just this particular one where it was so damn close, the kid was announced as winning, and the rules were not clearly explained to him.

Even if the insurance company wouldn’t cover it, they should have immediately chosen to take the hit and pay for it out of pocket.

The insurance company is the bad guy here, the dealerhsip is the GOOD GUY for once.  All of these are backed by insurance companies so the dealer took this out of their pocket to make it right.  The dealer should get nothing but good press for cleaning up after the insurnace company.

Here’s a not-burned version for those interested.
