It's crazy that this is the only serious issue you had with your 2004 RX-8! Glad it worked out in the end. A competent dealer service drive with worth its weight in gold. It's a shame there are hard to find with Mazda.

Why GT racing is so awesome, in one shot. I'd watch an all GT race, wouldn't you?
S Coupe = CL65 by another name.

And that is just seat time, by the way! If you want to buy a decent used chassis, they can be found for 10-15K! Formula Mazda is also a great class, as rotary motors are pretty reliable in a racing setting and cheap if they break!
Not at all. They are very simple, and relatively inexpensive race cars. Very easy to drive! Just a basic lightweight chassis, Ford (or any engine you choose) 4 cylinder motor and gear box.
I have never had as much fun on a track as in a Formula Ford. Pure racing. Such a blast. I recommend it for everyone!
Without a doubt, the ugliest car on sale today.
I laughed quite a bit when I found out this woman was driving a 2003 base C class. Completely changes the story. A 2003 Prius is worth more!
That is true for the most part (although anyone with the N54 series of engines will disagree). I worry about all the other bits and bobs too. It just sucks because not only will I have to wait for this car to actually come out, but then I will have to wait for an additional couple of model year cycles for them to…
One of the things that made the Supra so awesome was the insanely overbuilt and reliable motor. Many people had MKIVs pushing 500+HP on stock internals. I am very excited to see what becomes of this merger, but I worry that if the new Supra goes the way of the FT-86 and uses a largely BMW-developed engine, it won't…
Are you sure that is a clock and not Hal 9000?
It has been half a decade since I looked at this, and I no longer have the source. But when writing a legal article, I remember coming across a study (I think from the NHTSA) that the Celica and MR2 had some the lowest fatality rates of any vehicle on the road. I am going from memory here, but it all makes sense when…
HILARIOUS article. I especially enjoyed how much Pirrelli8 knew about your videos. He referenced the Gorilla (my personal favorite), the packing peanuts, the TV . . . everything!
Brakes are not inboard. 13" are very efficient in size (low unsprung mass). They can make small brakes very very efficient, so the size doesn't make a huge difference there. I remember seeing a decade ago that F1 designers actually preferred the smaller wheel package. I imagine jumping up to 18" inches is just for…
Great article! Driving a decked out GT-R/458/RS6/ETC and a Miata is a totally different experience, and both are fun in their own ways.
technically the NC is mid-engined. ND is well based on the chassis reveal!
You can definitely hear rotary tones at one point. The word "revolutionary" also suggests a rotary. It is hard to tell though. Because the video isnt really getting into the revs, and at low revs, the 13b didnt sound all that different from a 4 cylinder (other than the idle, of course).
I thought the same thing (and it…
The FE RX8 (same basic Chassis as NC) had EPS and no one seemed to care much. Most publications listed it as one of the best handling modern cars. Mazda3 has it as well.
