Makes sense. He did wonders for Mazda, and has been doing the same for Ford for years. Glad to see his career is taking him even farther.

Agreed - Can't believe it was beaten out by the FT-86 twins. Nothing is more old school sports car than British roadster-style Miatas. Harking back to "coupes from the '80s and '90s", is hardly top ten"old-school." I imagine author was born in the 90s and thinks anything pre-2000 is "old-school."

I drove a '92 for years. Very reliable car - only problem area was the automatic transmission, which, luckily, does not apply to you! About the least sporty car on Earth, but doesn't look that dated considering its two decades old.

How much do they cost?

Other than the original, what are your favorite Miata models?

The 1998 ES300 had 210 HP. It is like Acura never got the horsepower war memo.

Being Jalopnik, it would make more sense to just compare everything to the Miata.

I used to work for Toyota - and still have many friends in the business.

It was a really mediocre experience for Toyota. Few people ordered it. Many of the ones that did order the kit had the installation completely screwed up by their local Toyota dealer who had no experience installing aftermarket superchargers on cars. I heard a lot more horror stories than successes stories when it

It's actually not a bad version of the giant Lexus grill. Still looks ridiculous, especially on a Camry, but could be worse.

It looks like they are keeping the multi-link setup in the rear. Interesting . . . many people assumed they would go back to double-wishbones all around to save weight now that they were not going to use a modified RX-8 platform.

Yes, PPF has always looked quite similar. I have an NC and you can clearly see it when under the car!

The PRHT only adds 79 pounds to the car. Also, many people considered it the best PRHT in the business when it came out as it does not take up any additional trunk space and goes down/up in 12 seconds. Far superior than the Mercedes SLK equivalent at the time, for example.

Terrible headlights on that car. If you replace them with Range Rover headlights, NOW we're talking.

Maybe Jason's embarrassing thing behind the wheel is reposting a month-old article?

Further proof that authors don't read each others articles here!

Oh wow. yeah! Well both the Honda and especially Mazda are pretty old platforms, as far as entry-level cars go. Hopefully they address this issue when designing new models.

Would side curtain airbags address this issue? Or do they only blow when the car is impacted on the side.

The Miata already has a tie-in: Playboy

Exact same thing happened with the C6 and its original 4-speed auto!
