How many characters are there to play with? Most of the replayability in Crypt was in the added difficulty from the harder characters. Is there a double-beat Bolt or a half-heart / no special weapon Aria? If not, would they make sense if they added them later?

Good for you if you’re willing to sacrifice a good game for principles, but the only effective action is actually exactly what Jason is doing. Write articles, call people out, shame the bosses. They read this stuff. They want to look good and they hate to look bad. They want employees thinking Rockstar is a kick ass

I never got this. I used to play chess and resigning has always been considered the polite thing to do when your position is hopeless. No chess player I know of would have thought it more enjoyable to give mate when their position was obviously winning. It’s considered a sign of respect to not force your opponent to wa

You should play 3! It’s fantastic too. I played it before 4, so it might be a step backward, but it felt great at the time.

Not taking issue with most of your comment, but having 3 out of 32 spots taken up by non-sporting considerations still leaves the other 29 open to pure skill and performance. Not much of a difference in terms of potential pros feeling they have a path available to them.

Okay, WizTree is amazing. Scans my disks in 3 seconds each, I just freed up 160GB out of 500GB on my D drive and found out that Epic Games was installed on my C drive instead of D. This all took approximately 12 minutes thanks to the intuitive graphical representation. Highly recommended.

One thing that’s kind of surprising is that it’s possible for a team like Vancouver or the Shock to be so superior. In real-life sports, some athletes are actually better than others. They’re stronger, jump higher, run faster, etc. But with e-sports, each Reinhardt hammer swing does as much damage, no matter who

But don’t weight limits limit the issue? I’m no expert, but whether it’s bone structure or muscle mass, it all adds weight to the body. If a transgender competitor is the same weight as a cisgender competitor, which is the case in MMA + boxing, where’s the advantage supposed to be coming from?

Players can play to the letter of the rules because it’s in their interest to win. Fans can boo players who do this because it’s in their interest not to be bored. Players can try to be entertaining because it’s in their interest to be popular. Organisers can not invite boring players because it’s in their interest to

Power doesn’t just come from official authority. A prominent person in a community has a lot of power, and someone who wants to be part of that community is well aware of it and well aware of the fact that that power could be used against them. From what I remember of the Harvey Weinstein victims, a lot of them were

One thing that can help is to keep an eye on the kill feed on the right. That’s basically the score for the current team fight. If somebody gets a kill, their team is 1-0 up. If their opponent then gets 2 kills, that’s a comeback, they’re the ones who are 2-1 up. Eventually one team gets a bunch of kills with the

Do you like chess? As far as I’m concerned it’s more like a blitz chess game with music than a rhythm game.

Pretty simple, enemies + hero move one “square” on the beat. That’s why they “jump” on each beat, instead of moving smoothly. Picture a chess board with each piece moving on every music beat, that’s basically what’s going on. The squares were visible in Crypt, but seem invisible in this game, which might be confusing.

If it’s like Crypt, the basic character only loses her combo when she misses a beat. Not a huge deal, you pick up less gold and lose damage or protection if you have a multiplier-based armor or weapon. When learning the game, it’s actually a legitimate tactic to skip a beat on purpose to fight certain enemies.

Of

It’s not a rhythm game where you need to hit “perfects” or anything like that. Keeping the beat is really easy, and you quickly learn most of the enemy move patterns. The hard part is tracking multiple enemies at once in different combinations, plus learning the boss fights.

I’m looking forward to the meta changing too, but I actually like Goats. A lot of teamwork and both teams sticking together means you get almost all of the action instead of being on Widow while Tracer’s sticking a pulse bomb and Tracer when Widow’s landing the double headshots.

I’m curious, what’s the big difference between Anthem and Destiny? I thought from the review it was basically Bioware’s version of it, so I’m wondering what you personally find to be different. Is is just the specific combat mechanics, or is the gameplay loop any different?

Exactly. I used to love loot games, now I can’t be bothered, but if you’re going to make a game like that it’s the second most important thing to get right. Fun gameplay loop is first, fun loot loop is second. Everything else is a distant third.

Overwatch is still the only game I’ve played online that feels like a real team sport. Different roles, good team play is more important than individual ability, communication is key... and, of course, the lack of these things can be very frustrating, just like in real-life sports! I don’t see why I’d get bored of it
