Yeah, I honestly don’t agree with you. If you want to be competitive, play competitive. It’s in the name. All the other modes are for fun. It’s a video game, people can play it however they want. It’s up to you to adapt to that, not the other way round.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I’m Level 230 and I must have gotten 200 of that on Mystery Heroes. I like comp and QP too, they’re all fun in their way, but I always go back to MH, because you get to play all the heroes and nobody gets angry.

Kind of curious, are your best heroes the same in comp as in MH? For example, I play

Yeah, that’s what Blizzard is trying to do. Establish Overwatch as a permanent sport, not transient. Doesn’t mean they’ll succeed, but that’s the goal. If they fail, then your point is correct, but there’s a lot of people who have a big financial stake in making it work. I’m still doubtful, but it gives them a chance.

The difference between Overwatch and traditional sports is that traditional sports have a ball. One ball that everybody fights for, passes around, tries to hit, whatever. There’s important stuff happening off the ball, but it only matters because the ball will eventually be there. It’s a natural focus.

Seriously? Huh, thought there were more mage spells than that. Thanks for doing the work!

There’s an objective answer, but don’t pretend you know it when you haven’t done the work to establish the facts. You’re just guessing from intuition, same as everybody else. Both games have elements of skill and luck, that’s the only thing we can say for sure without hard evidence.

She’s amazing! Love the old Chloe and the new Chloe. It’s really a great game. Writing is better than the first, gameplay is weaker (nothing really replaces the time rewind mechanic). It’s pretty much an interactive story now, but I love the two main characters so it suits me fine.

Yup, totally assholey in multiplayer! But I have to say I used to cheat at Magic when I was a teen, mostly “misremembering” my life total in casual games. I didn’t want to be an asshole, but I was insecure and liked the feeling of winning even when I didn’t deserve it. Can’t really comprehend what I got from it now,

He said he cheats in single player. Nothing assholey about that.

That female Torb is really cool! I’d love to see Blizzard come up with an alternate-world reversed-gender skin for each character... though I imagine in real life this turn a cute idea into total toxic disaster.

Kind of curious, if you’ve never been in voice chat, how do you know you’ll hate it? Just from what you read on the internet? I’m just getting into competitive now, and having a lot of fun being on comms. You really feel like you’re on a team. I’m sure I’ll run into some toxic people eventually, like everyone seems

Really? College football and basketball stars have a way bigger national profile than esports pros, with typical ages ranging between 17 and 21. And in fact, you do see a lot of sexual assaults accusations and rumors about these guys, so your point about youth might stand, but it’s definitely not something that’ll be

Google “functioning alcoholic” and come back here. You can use the term whichever way you want, but the wider world agrees with Sean Brody.

I don’t think that’s true. Millions of people with addiction have managed to learn to control it, either by abstaining completely or by cutting down. That’s a fact, isn’t it? How do you square that with your statement?

I have a lot of sympathy for people with gambling addictions, just like people with alcohol or drug addictions. They’re dangerous activities. But they’re also enjoyable activities for those who can handle them. I just had a Zen Cultist skin pop out of a reward lootbox, and I’ll be way more excited to play him for the

No, I agree with you, any microtransaction affecting multiplayer gameplay is the worst idea imaginable. You have to draw the line at cosmetics, and I do in my purchasing and gameplay decisions. But if you do, I actually think cosmetic loot boxes are a fantastic solution to maintaining a great game over the long run.

You’re missing half of what’s changed in the article. Yes, you used to buy a 60$ game and pay no more. But games aren’t just released, now, they’re maintained, updated, upgraded, for years and years. That costs money, too, and loot boxes are the ongoing influx paying for those upgrades. I’m perfectly happy with that

I think the strategy is not to get people to upgrade who weren’t already planning to do so, but to get the ones who were going to upgrade anyway to go Intel instead of Ryzen. For example, I was planning on a Ryzen 1700 build but now I’m going to go for an Intel i7-8700 build instead.

Just bought mine 2 months ago, and I think it’s great they’re updating. If it gets more people into PSVR, that’s more games for me.

Micro-transactions should always be cosmetic only. I spent 80$ on Overwatch loot boxes and I have no regrets. I got the skins and wanted and they don’t make a damn bit of a difference to the game play, so whoever didn’t have 80$ to blow on silly skins can still beat me with superior skill.
