I have a 3 year old son. Cars is the first full length movie I ever showed him and he loves it. We followed up with Cars 3 and now it’s either the first or third when he’s in the mood to watch racing. Cars 2 has a more complex storyline that he gets bored trying to follow. I don’t think the movie is bad. Michael Caine

I’m from Chicago. I moved to New Orleans for college. My father was 1000 miles away and still found reasons to visit on a regular basis because the restaurants in that town are top notch. Like Parisians, New Orleanians do not tolerate bad food.

In case you forgot, Homer received a gift from Hank Scorpio for the invaluable service he provided on Project Arcturus. As a thank you, Scorpio gave Homer the Denver Broncos for a hilarious closer.

Waveland and Kenmore is a damn good corner for catching home runs when the wind is blowing out. My comment isn’t a contender, but your pic reminded me of a funny Chicago fact my dad told me growing up.

Hey, take it easy on the C3. It’s a beautiful shape. It was an excellent platform for its day until we rightfully banned tetraethyl lead from gasoline and had to spend a decade figuring out how to make power without overly polluting the atmosphere. Chevy also was forced to make it meet bumper standards that no one

If you haven’t seen it, James May drives one on the Grand Tour and races Dickie Atwood. It’s a great segment.

Your article glosses over McDonald’s demotion. When word of McDonald’s demotion reached Congressman Ed Markey’s desk, the government came down on Thiokol like a goddamn anvil. He introduced a joint resolution to end all government contracts with Thiokol. The firm quickly reversed course on McDonald’s career.

Having watched the entire series by Ronald Finger on youtube, I’d dive into this. From what I gathered, there’s a healthy community for parts and support.

I got the Miata. Still have it 30 years later. There were moments of regret for not listening to my parents appeal to practicality, but it was and remains worth it. I simply believed that there wouldn’t be another time in my life where having a sports car would be a good fit. If my son wants a sports car when he’s old

My dad. Not a car guy, but he had a few loves. Unfortunately, he kept one of them around far too long to the point of embarrassment. He bought a 1976 Buick LeSabre convertible. “The last of the big convertibles,” he said. Sky blue, white interior, white top - it was a wonderful car. I mostly remember bouncing around

We caught the F&I lady pulling a shell game with the interior insurance on the last car we leased. A few hundred bucks? fine. A few hundred per year for the duration of the lease? Hard pass. I rolled my eyes and muttered something to my wife under my breath. Our collective look made it clear to the F&I lady that she

I’d have gone for the quick release bumper fasteners. Costs a bit more than tape, but no residue to clean off and if it breaks, just pop on another band.

Torch, do you remember the solid gold series 1 Apple Watch? The same principle applies here. It was functionally identical the $500 version, but it cost $17,000. There’s a cachet and perceived exclusivity for those who bought it - right up until the next model comes out.

Dang it - I posted without context to the headline. Someone in this thread mentioned Tom Cochrane’s “Life is a Highway.” Rascal Flatts covered it for the Cars soundtrack and I liked it - but I think it’s overrated as well. Perhaps because my son wants to hear it on car rides and around bedtime. It’s either the Cars

Being the father of a three year old who cannot get enough of Pixar’s World of Cars, I submit that many of the songs featured in those movies make great driving songs. Yes - this includes both Planes movies.

I have a soft spot for this one. Have a star.

That would have to be my 79 K-5 Blazer. It had a 4 inch lift kit and a giant set of tires. It didn’t have running boards and the door handle was at eye level for my six foot frame, so I’d have to use the steering wheel and interior door handle to vault myself inside. There wasn’t an inch of carpet or insulation on the

I was an audiophile for a while until I realized that I enjoy convenience and simplicity much more than I do “purity of sound”. It’s the speakers that really matter and there’s a significant diminishing return on sound quality as the price point increases.

This is good to know. Mirrors and signals are vital, along with full riding gear. Sure - you can use hand signals for turns but when you’re on the brake, you want maximum visibility.
