I’d prefer real keys. Who wants to have to look at the strip to hit the right key or button? Gamers certainly don’t. You can make the entire row real buttons that are customizable just as easily as using an OLED strip. I am sure it comes down to cost and the fact Apple can save money by doing this and passing it off

Aside from the potential OLED strip (which feels less like a useful feature and more like a “me too” add-on), would any of this really be all that surprising?
