I am so old. So very old and tired. Aside from the obvious disgust and hope for justice to be served, my elderly brain still cannot process how to pronounce this wanker’s name, and is yet flummoxed at how one arrives at such a specific look, while still managing to appear so accidentally attired. Everything about him…
Shame on Nicki...what the actual fuck. Why would you associate with someone like that when you have your own shit going for you? Oh yeah, because her literal ass is just a passing trend and she feels her self slipping down the shit show that is show business and thought she could drum up publicity by leaching on to a…
Honestly why does the rap/hip hop/R&b community allow this? It’s so disappointing that Nicki Minaj would let herself be associated with him. Say what you will about Drake, but he shows that you don’t have to be an actual piece of shit to have cred in the game.
Pretty much. I am more disgusted that NM would team up with him... given that her brother was raping his step kid!!!
The little shithead was having a fucking concert here in Berlin in July. How was he allowed international travel while being charged with all this shit on top of the plea deal?
They better make his ass register as a sex offender. Meanwhile his song “Fefe” was just certified Gold. And the image of him in the video doing the same things he did to that 13 yr old (luckily the woman in the video is of age and clearly consented to it, it’s avting after all what happened in that video he shared was…
Yes! It’s fine and occasionally fun.
Carter! I’ve watched most of the first season. It’s bad but in that 90's Canadian dramedy way, which means it’s entertaining, but hella hokey. (Kristian Bruun aka Donny from Orphan Black is also in it).
Jerry O’Connell shot a series north of Toronto last year and I had several friends working on it. They all said he was the nicest, most down to earth sweetheart of a guy.
This dirt bag is so boring it got filed to Jerry O’Connell
It reminds me of one of my favorite excerpts from “The Girl in the Tangerine Scarf” (which I can’t find online, so I will paraphrase poorly from memory). A group is praying in the mosque and some children enter and start being silly. Some of the worshipers smile, others focus on God, but some manage to do both.
This is tangential, but sooooooo exciting: Michigan appears to be on the way to electing Rashida Tlaib as the first Muslim-American Congressperson tonight! Go, Rashida, go! 🤞
Oh my God I love this so much. I too am a Muslim woman who doesn’t go to mosque except at Eid, and not even then, because I just hate the spaces (not)shared with us.
I wonder if the people disagreeing with you would feel the same if the writer were Catholic, or Southern Baptist, or Pentecostal? Something tells me there would be a bunch of comments similar to yours, with slurs against those religions as well.
Incredible article. Posting this at the speed of light. Thanks so much for writing it.
Do you also love it when women break off a bad romance and never date again? Do you mourn when women find a man who makes them happy, because all men have implicit sexist biases they will never completely eradicate?
“[The word] ‘progressive’ is like a box,” Gulrez says. “It sounds as if there is a progressive Islam, and there is a backward Islam [...] That’s not my experience, because to me what we’re practicing is part of the Quran, is part of the sunnah. So to say ‘progressive’ is too limited and limiting.”
Beautiful writing Sheena, thank you.
A wonderful and thoughtful read.
