He’s obviously on... speed.

Cocaine makes you Jonah Hill weird. This is beyond that
Whoever plays drums for her now?
This is an impressively dumb post. I applaud you.
Behind the curve, man.
Seeing as how she’s in London shooting said Snow White movie maybe Disney didn’t think the hype they’ll get for her doing little more than walking the red carpet is worth the expense of flying her across the world and losing 3-4 production days on the movie.
Really? Lifehacker finally goes that low? A site dedicated to lifehacking posts an article critizing DIY? Of course, “Sweat equity is its own cost”. But the cost is not monetarty unless you are spending your time on actually “WORKING”.
Look, I have no problem people paying for higher quality kitchen remodeling. But…
I'd honestly rather listen to Joe Rogan.
I don’t really get the first point - he didn’t force her to audition, if anything it seems pretty clear from the anecdote that he didn’t want her to. She wanted to so she paid her own way to do so. She could have easily said “fuck this guy, I’m not paying for my own ticket for a job interview.”
I get the point about the show being written by an American who may be unfairly portraying characters to prop up the main character. Although I would argue that just about every show does this.
I’d wager I’ve been directly involved in more anti-police state action and am more read on the subject than most folks in this commentariat. My family has been victim to police brutality and continue to struggle under some incredibly unjust criminal laws of this nation.
The true successor to the SWAT series and truly one of the best experiences of the year. If you don’t like tactical shooters don’t -lay them - no need for an 80o word article
Here’s what bothers me about everyone’s analysis about this show. No one ever points out what absolute dickwads Emily’s French colleagues are in welcoming her to a new country and culture.
Sylvie is an awful person and an awful boss. She runs her business based on her own personal relationships and encourages her employees to demean other colleagues. Like in what workplace would it be OK to give price discounts to your former lover and name-call new employees you don’t like?
Exactly. It’s one thing to wonder if it deserves to be renewed due to its quality, but c’mon. This was a given (and it makes AVClub seem particularly clueless about the media they cover if they think it wasn’t a sure thing...)
And it’s a social media juggernaut. Even my boring, politics-focused, old man Twitter timeline is full of people talking about this show. It’s clearly one of the biggest Netflix hits of the year in terms of viewership and media impact.
“Nielsen said subscribers watched more than 676 million minutes of the series within its first week of release.”
I don’t know if it was the prolonged period away from friends and family and my desire to travel and use my passport again...but I enjoyed the crap out this show. bring on season 2.
really late to the comments, but just watched this, and totally agree with you. I bawled at the end because it’s a movie about taking accountability and how hard that can be. Healthy here wasn’t really about her weight, it’s just about breaking the cycle of feeling aimless and trying to find some purpose.
I saw this last night on Amazon Prime. This is a sweet little movie. It deserves a real review. Measuring how well a film conforms to clickbait politics is not a review.
