Actually after Dany and Jon, Gendry would have the most solid claim to the Throne considering his Great Grandmother was a Targaryan.

When Dany did not let her army rest but ran to King’s Landing to get her throne I knew this is where this was heading.  She’s just as crazy as her father and just as obsessed as her brother.

The issue was that the show took this foreshadowing and radically altered her character to railroad her madness.

Yeah, I think a lot of people are misinterpreting Dany’s decision to slaughter King’s Landing as madness. It was certainly emotional, but it was also very tactical — she wanted to inspire fear, since that’s the only tool she felt she had left.

Your issue is that you didn’t pay attention in the books and now blame others for the consequences - much like the rest of the whiners.

Even in the books Dany never instituted a formal government in either of those cities.

She had half the Meereen masters murdered, including women. Most of them were not part of the Harpies either.

But Dany has been nothing but destructive for her whole arc. It started with Miri, you can argue she deserved it but Dany made the sacrifice knowing what it would cost. Then she goes on to Mereen, where she removes the Old Master..Then back to Qarth without even consolidating power or setting up a new order in Mereen,…

I think there is for sure some double standards with these behaviors but she pretty much booo’d the news of her own show getting renewed in real time. And then insulted the intelligence of everyone who called her on it. I can’t imagine there’s a lot of actors at any level in their career who could pull that without…
