and while it’s being discussed they should also talk about if your the dude on top, maybe also not spin a wheel...  I means this in all seriousness.  Neither should have tried to extricate themselves at that point unless Hamilton felt in danger while that wheel was on his head, but regardless Drivers meeting to

Max has been in the sport for 7yrs now. He ain’t no rookie or a relative newcomer. He’s mostly tempered his antics but his nickname is Mad Max for a reason no? I don’t recall ever seeing Lewis walk/talk entitled the way Max does, even when he was Max’s age. The bullying is on track by Max as much as it is off track

Drove a rwd hemi Chrysler for years through new England winters just fine. The difference is wen u lose control in a fwd it’s okay Jesus take the wheel versus in a rwd u actually have the ability to throttle out of the skid. Give her some extra gas , cut the wheel and have some fun instead of barreling into that tree

A few things :
1) Recently, many folks have lamented the incident at Silverstone between these 2. Many of the complaints have centered around how an accident at a high-speed corner is extremely hazardous and thus should have high penalties. Without going into blame, this incident highlights how a slower-speed corner

going for a gap the exists... that’s the key. There was no gap other than to drive over the curbs and get him later on. Max is a checkers player when Lewis is mostly a chess player.  And at times I believe Ayrton could pull of some truly dick moves too in the name of “the gap” and “going for it”.

Was Verstappen deserving of the penalty? I think Yes.

absolutely does. not only did he make a move he knew he wouldn’t make, it does seem like toto might be onto something with how strategic is is to take out hamilton. if max was going to miss out on points, why give lewis the chance to gain some?

I feel like if it was not for the halo this would have been a very horrifying accident.

Maybe it’s faulty or selective memory, but it seems whenever the situation is reversed, and Hamilton is behind Verstappen, they manage to not crash.

Where a penalty needs to be levied on Max is what occurred once both cars came to rest. With his car at a 30 degree angle and rear wheels off the ground - knowing he drove over the top of Hamilton - he still tried to engage his drivetrain and power his wheels. He had no idea where his rear wheels were resting with

And I think the fact that Max spun his wheels when, for all he knew, his rear tyre could’ve been sat on Lewis’s head is a pretty decent indication he’s a dick.

Are they? Like... 90% of the comments I just got done reading on this thread agree that it was absolutely Max’s fault. The remaining 10% I chalk up that group that aren’t satisfied with anything much less than Hamilton’s car on fire.

Blame Max. Max tried to stick a move and/or stick it to Lewis and it backfired. Damon Hill who I respect immensely and has been punted off a race course by none other than Michael Schumacher said in his opinion Max went for a move he was never going to be able to make and should have gone over the curbs but he sorta

Hamilton and Verstappen are both brilliant drivers. For anyone who needs a primer, Verstappen has long been known as “Mad Max” amongst his 19 other competitors on the grid. Nothing wrong with that. Just context. Mercedes has had the better car for some years now so Hamilton hasn’t had to get his hands dirty. Shit is

I think this once again demonstrates a lack of maturity on Max’s part; especially the comment afterwards.

Watching Bottas claim 3rd from the back of the grid, I don’t think 3 places should hamper Max too much next time out...

Yes, he absolutely deserves it without question. He’s been pulling crap like that his entire F1 career and getting away with it more than not. Today happened because of that problem. F1 has been so desperate to generate excitement that they have over-hyped this punk since day one and let him get away with too much

Why? Max already had a lap on his tires. They were primed. So you let him pass and wait for yours to warm up? Why in the world would Lewis do that?

Yes, Max is mostly to blame. He was behind, all the time, until the crash. That’s what he does, playing chicken and expecting the other driver to give way. That’s not how you win WDC. In the exact same spot, in lap one, Lewis has been smarter.

It’s not a severe enough penalty. It’s not about both competitors suffering already, Max effectively Maldanado’d Ham to negate his team’s pit stop fuckup that would have lost him the driver championship lead.
