I have been spending around 8 - 12 weeks in Japan every year for over 20 years and one of the most useful things I have found is Google’s Project Fi. I’ve struggled with various solutions to the cell phone problem over the years. My experience with international SIM cards has been horrible. Renting a phone in Japan

There are several apps, just look up pasmo or suica.

Go to the Google Play Store and it will tell you if the app is compatible with your device.

Oh, and if you are going to Kanagawa they are giving out free cell phones for up to 3 days there.

I’ve had horrible experiences with SIM cards. Renting a phone in Japan isn’t a bad option, but is a little expensive. Project Fi has worked out great for me. Having to buy a phone from them is an extra expense, but you can get a Motorola X4 for a little over $300 and I paid over $100 to rent an iPhone in Japan the

You should look into the special deals on domestic airfare you can get when traveling to Japan. We have gotten 10,000 yen/person to anywhere in Japan. It has worked out pretty well for travel to Okinawa, Ishigakijima, and Hokkaido.

Excellent post, Rodney! I have been traveling to Japan once or twice a year for 6 to 8 weeks at a time for over 20 years and agree with everything you said. Japanese police are great, I have had the same experience as you described several times. The police situation in the USA is getting so weird, I try not to even

Google’s Project Fi is awesome! It works well in Japan, and almost anywhere else in the world. Data is always $10/GB, and you only pay for exactly what you use.

“... every accuser will be believed almost without question and the punishment for every infraction will be crucifixion and that’s just the way it has to be.”

There’s a very obvious reason why these are all expressed with pictures, and I think you missed it.

James McMurtry wrote the song Levelland about a city in Texas. It begins by wondering why the people on the migration West would have stopped there. It’s about an entirely unrelated people (probably European).

This just happened to me here in Florida about 20 minutes ago, 2 hours after I got confirmation that the package “was left at the front door or on the front porch.”

My Ring doorbell (bought through Amazon) has paid for itself several times.

I now live part-time in Japan and the US. It’s embarrassing how bad customer service is in the US.

It’s not just the USPS. While waiting for a delayed shipment that the USPS had rerouted all over the state, I just got a text saying another order had been delivered, and “was left at the front door or on the front porch.” I phoned Amazon and the representative admitted that Lasership employees often scan items as

Then there’s the journey taken by the chainsaw I ordered from Amazon:

Better than getting off to mass murder ...

So is it the people who purposefully and knowingly firebombed civilian populations and the only country to, not once but twice, dropped atomic bombs on cities full of civilians who are criticizing underage sex?

It’s hard to believe Charley would go this far to get back at Max. The onboard cameras should be enough. They could even adopt some kind of automatic time penalty, like the electronic line system in tennis.
