Unfortunately I think you are right. The F-22 will be retired long before living up to its true potential. I remember cringing at reading how they were canceling some uprgrades and postponing others for the F-22.

I am thinking the advancement in unmanned aerial combat vehicles and the great strides made by near peer states in their area denial anti access capabilites means that the days of the piloted aircraft are coming to a very rapid end. Therefore no 6th Gen fighters. I still have my doubts about the LRS-B being piloted.

I think GAS had a car very much like this. I think they did a little drive around on Jay Lenos Garage and filmed it. They said they did just that. Brought it in from Mexico, but that it had to go back in six months.
