I like going to the theaters but it became to expensive, a family outing is just not possible more than a few times a year.

Notes on this (significantly compiled from things others have already said):

Guy takes a popular working class restaurant and turns it into bougie fine dining only assholes can afford and we’re supposed to applaud that even though it’s one of the things destroying livability in our cities

Lord this movie was such a a stinker. I guess movie reviewers imagine themselves part of “the press” and part of the defense of democracy and therefore the autofellatio this movie is getting makes sense?

That’s not a serious take. Business-side execs can get it wrong. They do all the time. But it’s not unhinged to consider that a big-swing, massive-budget film about an architect rebuilding a futuristic NYC might be a seriously difficult sell. That’s a wholly rational conclusion. Maybe it’s wrong. But probably not. And

The problem is in real life, this Nick Offerman president would have been a beloved godlike figure to one of those states. He either ran on the “philosophy” of Texas (aka MAGA), or he ran on the philosophy of California.

It seems as though the consensus here is that “it isn’t the burger that’s the problem, it’s that customers don’t want whatever else the restaurant is trying to sell.”

It’s my understanding that a humble cheeseburger can really do wonders for the happiness of the chef. Especially, if the burger is made with American cheese. American cheese is the best cheese for a cheeseburger, because it melts without splitting.

they make another empanada without bringing back the caramel apple? at this point I’m certain they’re doing this to me on purpose

[T]hese leads are getting too old to be in teen movie...

can’t we just have socially awkward characters anymore?

I’m not outraged. I do enjoy the slight irony of it given the messaging of the film, which I do think it’s possible to acknowledge. I also do think there’s something to be said that this situation reinforces some Academy stereotypes (i.e. movies about the Holocaust and WWII are a shoo-in, we can have one female

Name the movie that beat Citizen Kane for the Oscar off the top of your head.
While you google your answer, we’re not dumb...we understand that being nominated for an Oscar isn’t the same as winning it.
But to not recognize that Margot Robbie and Gerwig made something timeless out of a subject that nobody was expecting?

So you are saying that Greta and Margot should just be happy that they got nominated in a category, any category, doesn’t matter which one. To be upset at people who want to have a discourse is ridiculous. And it’s ironic that you think people are upset over a perceived slight when the snub is actually very much real.

heap filler; fake cheese sauce, rice, and tortilla strips

NO. This is precisely why American TV is so stupid: these 23/24 episode orders of mostly FILLER. Garbage article.

Absolutely not.  I get it 8 episodes is way too short.  But 20 episodes stretched over the course of 8 months is way too long.  If you want 20 episode seasons again, then you must concede that once the season starts it keeps going until it ends.  No more “mid season finales” or air one episode then nothing again for 3

Very hopeful Godzilla Minus One gets (at least!) a Best Foreign Language nom. It is spectacular.

I can understand restaurants not wanting you to split entrees, but appetizers? I always thought those were designed for sharing.

Not only that, but her Dutch love interest has a young daughter, who she meets at the end of the show, and who is clearly with her at the cookout with the team at the end. I feel like “Rebecca will become a mom” question was pretty definitively answered. Biological, no, but mom, yes.
