I was a prosecutor for many many years. Two thoughts, sort of unrelated but related.

Whether the case goes or forward or not, this guy can forget his career. No production company is gonna lay out a dime to cast him. He used this caper to leverage an adjustment to his contract. Nobody’s gonna take a flyer on those shenanigans. It’s not as if he had been a high-demand talent.
