I was always pissed my high school didn't have a boys volleyball team. I was actually good at volleyball in my church league and would have absolutely loved to play more competitively, but never had the chance.

I posted this elsewhere, but there are leagues and teams for women to play on who really want to play football. The Pittsburgh Passion has even been nationally televised before on ESPN3. Progress is being made, and the LFL is only hurting by making it about sex instead of football.
