A more accurate description would be “where we aren’t allowed to pump our own gas”. New Jersey gets a lot of undeserved hate just for being the state next to NYC, but not being able to pump your own gas is the absolute worst thing about it.

Anarchism is a far-left ideology. Libertarians are not really related to anarchists in any way, other than that most capital ‘L’ Libertarians don’t actually know what anarchism is and just think it means “no government”.
I understand the impulse to just brush this off because “oh, well all comedians embellish for comic effect”. That was my gut reaction too. But this is a little more than that. For starters, Minhaj is one of those comedians who doesn’t even really tell jokes. He’s a clapter comic who goes up on stage to make points for…
I’ve also heard that, but I don’t think that Brand is that calculating. I think his drift to the Right is just a natural consequence of being “anti-establishment” without being grounded by any greater ideology. That allowed him to be as easily swayed by the social media algorithms as his followers. He was rewarded…
Danny Masterson was sentenced to 25 years to life. So yeah.
Wow. You came back to this article first thing in the morning just to post this. You were so bothered by this that you thought about it all night and still, this is the best you could come up with. You should just delete your account already. Everybody knows how pathetic you are.
Hey, man, anything to grind the U.S. war machine to a halt is good by me.
If 18 years of child support isn’t enough to scare men, I don’t think 18 years and 9 months will be any more effective.
What I find most interesting is that this map lists the pumpkin spice empanada as neither a baked good nor a sweet treat. Do the makers even know what an empanada is, or did they just assume that it must be like a taco or something?
This tendency predates fascism by thousands of years. The Ancient Greeks thought the Persians were all a bunch of effeminate weaklings but also that the Perisans were about to destroy Western Civilization.
Just because Americans have grown to accept private tyranny as a regular part of life doesn’t mean it isn’t tyrannical. And pointing that out does not diminish any other struggle.
But NATO is and always has been an instrument of U.S. global power . . .
Hey, it was a different time. A grosser, creepier time.
I hope this guy gets into a terrible accident or contracts an incurable disease that leaves him with just enough time left to reckon with his impending death.
Fun fact about Grover Cleveland: he was the only president to get married in the White House. Here’s a snippet from his wife’s Wikipedia entry:
The Dems have shown that they are unwilling to try anything to mitigate the power of a court which is already lost for at least a generation. We already know they’re not gonna pack the court or try to reign in judicial review.
So what are the Democrats actually gonna do, though? What is the response to this attempt to “divide and conquer”? Do they plan on offering something to voters to give them a reason to support them, or are they just gonna stick with guilt and scare-mongering about Republican fascism?
Uh . . . he’s a cop. Why would he have taken the job if he didn’t want to be able to kill with impunity?
Recognizing fallacies is not the same as making an actual argument. There is even a “fallacy fallacy” that holds that merely pointing out a fallacy in an argument does not (necessarily) invalidate its conclusion. A list of fallacies would just be more shit for highschoolers to forget immediately after graduating.
I’m not gonna criticize anyone for having doubts about the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death (even if he did kill himself, why the fuck was he left alone when he had allegedly just tried to kill himself a week prior? Not to mention the issue of the guards and cameras . . .), but the insistence that his client…
