What a concept!  Granny’s sleeper!

Oh now that deserves this:

OW! I’d rather walk than drag along on that area.

...because in my experience we almost never actually do. It’s like a Betteridge’s Law for online magazine sites...

You’re conflating obsolete industries with a well established distribution channel in a mature and still thriving industry.

I’ve been saying exactly this for years. Baffles me that so few get it. Dealers are NOT an expense to manufacturers, they save cost. If dealers went away, assuming you have any negotiating ability at all, you will pay more. Whiney little Internet bitches might pay less, but they are not my problem.

Clearly the jobs aren’t pointless if we’re still keeping them around. While you may not need to be walked through all the different car options and features at a dealer, a lot of people still do. I couldn’t find the link via Autonews.com since their search function sucks, but around 30% of people still prefer filling

Do you go directly to the manufacturer of everything you consume on a daily basis, or do you buy them from retailers, online or brick-and-mortar?

The dealer network is very useful. For one its the main point for warranty and repair. Go ahead and ask Tesla owners how repairs and warranty work goes. Its not good. Not to mention in the buying process its nice to see a myriad of options in the sheet metal. You wont get that direct to consumer. Plus existing dealers

I am annoyed that even a global pandemic has not ended the dealership model entirely.”

Maffei ranks seventh on the list of highest-paid CEOs of 2020, with his salary coming in at $47.12 million.

My wife and I visited the UK in 2007, back when the conversion rate was USA$2 to one British Pound, but that’s another story. Our rental choices ran from a Ford Ka to a Saab 9-5 turbodiesel wagon estate car, all amazingly at the same rental cost. Being USA tourists, we opted for the Saab as we were driving across

Too many tech rules, give the teams the batteries and motors and let them figure the rest out.  The smart boys will find the edge and the rest will follow.  Progress.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I mean, yes Ken, your expertly planned and choreographed videos have delighted millions, but, really?

I’m going to preface this with: I’m not a Tesla owner or a fanboy.
