I understand your disagreement, but I think it’s the mother’s prerogative to forgive or not. Maybe Scott’s mom felt the need to so she could start her healing process. I don’t believe it’s anyone’s place to judge her for that.

If they’re only agreeing because they feel obligated - like my father when my brother has booked his flight back from Thanksgiving at 6 am - then it’s still a jerk move.

Spoken like someone who has never not known where their next meal might come from, or how in the world they were going to scrape together the month’s rent in time after a sudden fiancial crisis, just so they didn’t end up homeless.

Of course, we don’t count the fact that many hotels don’t have early morning check-in times, and your forced to get a car, or figure out ways to stow your luggage somewhere.

There’s no such thing as a free airline ticket. At best you can just get other people to pay your way for you - and that’s just as much of a luxury for the average person as being able to afford the tickets themselves.

If you’re a regular flier, this isn’t advice for you.
