“Short-term costs” is extremely important, yes. Because subscriptions always net more money in the end. There’s a reason literally every type of software is transitioning to a subscription model. Some people have been at it for 10-15 years already and have profited greatly from it.

Depends on the agreement. If it includes an exclusivity clause then it actively will prevent that.

Isn’t this just more or less the usual exclusivity stuff though? I’m sure Microsoft would love it if all that went away and everything was on game pass at all times without them needing to pay for it. I suppose a remake can do more than a remaster which would just reuse the same things and touching up the graphics. That’s what gives me some hope. I thought the original was fun enough but definitely a bit stiff in the gameplay department.

I didn’t even know there were complaints. I saw the marriage of XCOM, which I love, and Slay the Spire, which I love, and became quite excited. If they’ve taken half a year to polish it even more then that’s just a big boon for me.
