Your working conditions can be bad even if your pay is good.

The game got a lot of flak for being unrelentingly dark as fuck during a time when a lot of Americans were depressed due to living in a mismanaged-to-hell pandemic.
The weirdest thing about this whole story is that it’s all based on those redditors entirely misunderstanding the intent and tone of one of GFR’s videos. Like, at least try not to be stupid when you decide to lash out at someone? Is that too much to ask?
It’s not dismissing it, it’s probably more like exhaustion. Hopefully the employees and industry as a whole benefits from this shit coming to light though.
Guess Bobby’s list of who to fire to fuel his next bonus check just wrote itself.
I think Alanah Pearce’s take on this whole thing was the one that resonated with me the most, possibly paraphrasing a little: “The only thing surprising to me about this is that people are surprised by this”.
It made me think of Harry Potter. Those books are still a collection of legendary fantasy that shaped a generation, regardless of the author’s views or comments.
Art can still be iconic and beloved even if the person who made it is not.
Showerthought: is it possible that a country that forbids free thinking is not the most fertile ground for hiring people in creative leadership roles?
Ehh, it’s more of a USA vs. Everyone Else thing. Many European countries have long and proud traditions of self blame.
Nobody’s walking out of a 120 MPH t-bone.
I’m noticing some Norwegian/Danish characters in there. Does Lisa Marie have a Scandinavian keyboard or was the cat using advanced keyboard features to type that stuff?
Discussions involving X-3 is when the “Hey maybe don’t”-person is most needed.
Yeah... but Turn A is also ancient and that one at least has the whole Butterfly WMD thing going for it as a late payoff.
I mean I like the series and the explanation is fine, but that doesn’t stop Barbatos from being one of the least cool mobile suits across all series. The rollercoaster ride of going from Sazabi to Barbatos was a soaring high into an incredibly precipitous hype fall.
Is Barbatos actually popular in Japan? I see it pushed quite a lot in various products. I mean I enjoyed that series, but the gundams in that particular outing are overall very shoddy and uncool. The signature weapon of Barbatos is literally just a blunt weapon. A solid steel mace. As far as Gundam as a franchise is…
Yesss. Hyped for this. It’s always a lot of fun trying to do the bonus objectives in these games, since it ends up being quite challenging at times. I also love how the reward you get for playing more is unlocking additional attacks with super cool animations for all your mechs.
The Rayearth mechs have incredible animations in the games too. And what’s not to love about them attacking a Zonder from GaoGaiGar x).
FF14 is also currently running a campaign to get lapsed players back by offering 14 days of free playtime if you’ve been away for at least a month or so. I figured I might as well start working through 5.1-5.5 so I’m good and ready when Endwalker hits.
So refreshing to hear that Yoshi-P has the same view as me. Square in particular was pretty notorious for releasing just a couple of images every now and then. I’m very much fine with if they’re instead now pushing for a more concentrated promotional campaign after the release date is actually final.
