Eh, they put Girls in the most stereotypically spoiled hipster neighborhood on the planet, so it is, if nothing, consistent. Stereotypically speaking.

I did about every other week this season. But I live in Old Fourth Ward, and it takes 10 minutes. Boulevard to DeKalb, then back streets through Grant Park.

My friend suggested that the stadium will be funded by Cobb County DUIs.

"He's the one who has to answer to the voters in his county."

You mean like how he greenlighted a massive stadium project without a public referendum? Ok, sure.

Managed toll lanes? MANAGED TOLL LANES? I don't see that solving everything, I really don't. Are there plenty of nice, progressive-minded folks in Cobb? Sure! Are they the majority? Nope!

Fair enough, but $14 million isn't going to solve traffic woes.

Oh, I know. Thank goodness Halloween was before qualifying contract offers went out.

Eh, I was born and raised in Atlanta, and was a kid when the Braves suddenly became awesome, and that was basically magical. I just always, always loved them, so for me, this stings. But yeah, there has to be another team for me to back.

As I wrote my post, the AJC posted a breaking story about 75 North being completely closed due to a wreck. This is not an uncommon news story. This is going to be a disaster.

At this point, I just want to watch the spectacular disaster, and maybe start rooting for another team. And I say this as someone who went as Brian McCann with a Carlos Gomez doll for Halloween, as someone who went to approximately a jillion games this year (10 minutes to the stadium, and with a rapidly growing

For whom? Have you ever tried to make it up I-75 after work on a weekday? It's a fucking nightmare. It may be easier for Cobb County residents. For intown residents, and Gwinnett County residents, it will HORRIBLE. But by all means, fuck those of us who don't live in Cobb. We had the audacity to move back to scary,

People in the inner city are not likely to attend games? Grant Park, dowtown, Old Fourth Ward, and Inman Park have some of the highest rates of attendance, according to the ticket map. Those are all very much intown ("inner city") neighborhoods. Also, better MARTA service would still help intown people.

I'm of the Jezebel crowd, and I love this whole thing so fucking much. This man is a national treasure. Unlike Mayor Ford, I cannot get enough.

And the Cobb police have already publicly stated that they are way underfunded and under-staffed as it is. Their first response to the Braves news was, "We don't have the manpower for stadium security." And now there will be less money for police and schools and infrastructure. Maybe the Braves and Cobb County think

You and me both. If nothing else, she makes me think a lot harder about female sexuality and ... commerce than, say, Taylor Swift or Katy Perry. That's gotta be good, right?

While I have a serious problem with her cultural appropriation and use of people of color as props (and, if I remember correctly, little people as well), her look - even as it is naked and sexed up - really doesn't seem to be specifically for the male gaze. So I like that.

Are women really that bad to each other? Like, outside the world of Real Housewives? I just don't see it in my life.

As a life-long Braves fan and native Atlantan who lives just a few miles from the TED, I think this is the worst thing ever.

I saw this show in Atlanta earlier this year! We had a whole group, it was BYOB, and it was a blast. We're going again next time they're in town.

They didn't want students bringing cars on campus, period, so parking was super limited, super expensive, and the rules were super arbitrary. I love my alma mater, but Vanderbilt Parking Authority or whatever can shove it.
