I think peppering food to death is just an old guy thing. My grandfather won't eat anything unless it's thoroughly covered in pepper- he says it's because you don't taste as well when you're old, like your tastebuds die/don't taste as well anymore.

That site has consistently been wrong on several of my games. And anyway, I only have a laptop, not a gaming PC. Graphics cards/dedicated RAM for graphics is a nightmare for me.

Eh, the most valid thing I've heard in regards to PC game piracy is that they want to make sure it actually will play on their computer. Not an issue on consoles, but PCs are so varied in their capabilities it seems silly to buy a $50* game just to find that it crashes on your computer.
