so this isn’t a direct answer to your question, but my family is from NOLA so i grew up on red beans and rice. you can easily swap out ham hocks - which we mostly use - for smoked turkey necks.

if only it were that simple...

While I think that the punishment was a bit overblown, it should be noted that in the court document it does say that the young man just never showed *at all* for his jury duty. That *is* a problem and certainly a shirking of his civic duty.

you know, there are very few TP works i care for on the substance, but i applaud him creating a blackity black space for blackity black creatives to make their visions come to life. i’m here for it.

and don’t forget nuance! they are HORRIBLE at that, too!

Methinks I will watch it again tonight when I get home. I almost felt like I was watching a horror movie in slow motion.

I paused as well, and quietly whispered to myself, ‘holy shit.’

She mentioned them and pointed out that they also go by “American wild ales” which was my first time hearing them by that name. Sours are definitely a lot of fun.

Well I’m glad to hear it. A friend of mine grew up in Berea, and I grew up on the east side; just bought my first house in Euclid in May. I’ve been back for almost five years now, and I really do love being here. Good time to be in Cleveland, truly.

Chicago traffic sucks so bad and I am grateful I’ve never had to drive there (I have a lot of family in Chi, and it’s a great city but my god the traffic). I hope Cleveland is treating you well! I’d like to think we are pretty chill.

color me shocked, I say.

You know what, that’s fair. I grew up here and have lived in other places (NC and DC, respectively), and comparatively, Cleveland drivers are not as pushy and aggressive as what I have seen elsewhere. But for *Cleveland*, 480 is a fiery hellscape, at least during rush hour. But yes, when you hold up Cleveland traffic

Cleveland - I-480 is a fiery hellscape where your dreams (and ETA) go to die.

you got it. it’s def one of my faves. i had el arepazo, and those pupusas are fine, but there is so much more flavor in the others at la bendicion.

So, if you like pupusas, you NEED to check out Pupuseria la bendicion when you are back home. Even more of a hole in the wall than El arepazo, and better pupusas! It’s off of West Blvd.

I’m happy to help! Even though you don’t drink, all of those places are still good places to find a good meal! I do really love Rincon and Pier W. So so good.

Barrio is fine - it’s not authentic though if that’s what you want. To their credit though, they have great queso and a solid beer menu!

i already am not a dog person, so them licking me is already something i almost always avoid, but also this person sounds like a dolt. why would you introduce **anything** into an open wound anyway?? ::sigh:: common sense, folks.

Pierogi are okay, but it’s not a thing we made, you know what I mean?
