She should have stopped after the first paragraph.

I know it’s this fall, my son will be applying in 5 years. I’m hoping based on all the things you’ve seen in reaction to it that the law is revoked by then. Fingers crossed!

Thoughts while watching this:

I have always failed to see why there is such an issue about his dating habits and type. I’ve never, ever read that he was mean or abusive or a cheater. Why does it matter that he likes blonde models in their 20s? Yes it’s a bit eye-roll inducing but hardly something I think is worth criticizing him over.

My fervent hope is that in 5 years when it comes time to start applying, that terrible law will have been revoked. It’s extremely unpopular with faculty and administration of all the colleges and universities from everything I’ve read.

Oh how sad for your friend.

I’m heartbroken for her family. I can’t imagine my child being that far away and then losing them in such a way. My 13 year old has planned his whole life to attend UT (his dad is an alum). Between this and the new guns on campus laws I’ve been feeling very ambivalent about that plan. Glad they caught the person who

She’s pulling off that Pat Benetar hair.

It looks like a last name, which is perfectly fine as a middle name. My brother’s middle name is a family surname. It’s a nice way to honor family.

No one finds honky offensive. There are no good racial slurs for white people in the U.S. because the white people were always in charge. No, the word “Indians” might not be offensive, but it is the equivalent of calling a team Asians or Caucasians which no one would think is ok or makes sense. The even bigger issue

He’s a smarter used car salesman.

ouch

I don’t watch AI and I have never heard a single person from this season sing. I can say with absolute confidence based on that header photo, though, that the lady is going places. She oozes stage presence and it’s a still photo!

I voted yes because I *do* like it, but in reality it would look terrible on my almost 40, post-3 kids body, so I wouldn’t actually.

I thought he was a serial sexual harasser in the 90s, lol

Bill Clinton is still an early 90s, third way politician. He is very, very good at that. He’s not adapted well to the current state of things.

I would agree, and I think it depends on what’s being named. There was no reason to name a mountain after McKinley, for example.

That is incredibly cumbersome and frankly, a bit silly. Those men were presidents. That means something. It doesn’t mean they were perfect and it doesn’t mean we ignore those failings and pretend the times they lived in were different. However, to try to separate the New Deal from FDR or conservation from Teddy

Right? Wilson’s 14 points are hugely important to the history of diplomacy and international relations.

The plaque is a nice gesture and starting place. IDK how I feel about all the renaming of things, though. Certainly some people should have no monuments, but it’s tricky with former presidents. If the standard for removal is owned/supported slaves/slavery or participated in segregation...a whole lot of things will
