Not in this instance, no. Porn “star” does not connote more positive feelings than adult “actress”.

“Porn” has a negative connotation that “adult film” doesn’t carry, no matter if they mean the same thing or not. Putting the two terms right next to each other is the issue. It colors who she was in a way that it doesn’t him. They should have gone with one or the other and left it at that.
