The idea could be that after the conversation with the nun, Nora has learned to lie in order to learn to live with her grief and make things work with Kevin, and Kevin buys into the lie because he's desperate to find happiness in any form.

I don't think the show's been a con at all: the show itself and the show-runners have been pretty damn clear throughout that we will not get answers about anything. The show's whole point is kind of to put you in the character's situation: deeply curious about something you will never get a definitive answer to. If

Nah, I think Theroux is gorgeous with the beard, but he does little for me without it.

Actually, outside of the final montage, the SFU finale is pretty low key compared to the previous few episodes. I'd say the "big finish" was… the big event that happened in the few episodes previous to the finale, and the finale was more of a quiet epilogue, with a great big finish/montage.

Why were Norma and Ed past their expiration date after the Laura Palmer storyline was solved? They had basically nothing to do with that storyline.

Twin Peaks isn't doing it for you? I don't think I've ever been more obsessed with a tv show in my life. Though I'm obviously biased.

Sounds like you need to check out the hit series Love! I hear it's a unique and refreshing take on those exact subjects! What are the odds?

I don't really get why there was so much hate for Michael Cera in the first place: I guess because he was such a specific/kind of annoying type of actor? He generally was really good at picking strong roles in good projects, despite his limitations though: Arrested Development, Juno, Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist,

She's already been in two, so that's definitely incorrect.

What numerical clues did you pick up? Outside of 253 I didn't get the significance.

Speaking of which, where did he get that computer/login from? Agent Jeffries perhaps? Or did I miss something?

There were also a lot of teens wearing flannel in very 90's ways, especially in the early episodes. The women's styling was pretty 50's outside of Joan Chen though.

Yeah, the last episode and the movie are actually the most important parts of the original series to be familiar with here. At least so far.

I would quibble with #3. Though the setting was confined to a pretty small geographical location, the cast was huge, and new characters were introduced every couple of episodes. There were tons of episodes where certain characters will only appear in one scene, and some characters who disappear for episodes at a time.

Cruise will be in the new season as well at some point!

I had a friend who checked it out without seeing the original. I think it's different enough that you can enjoy it as long as you're on Lynch's wavelength, though you won't have anywhere all the information needed to interpret certain things.

I honestly think that might be her only scene. But this thing is utterly impossible to predict at this point.

Thanks for this, that's fascinating! I'm preeeetty sure this means the show will conclude with a Godzilla style monster showdown.

Likely early to mid October, that's when CW fall shows generally premiere

I mean sure it can (see The Magicians), but not for lack of ideas…
