I never really listened to their stuff, but this is a great track. I'm not saying it's deep on any significant level (although I do like that thought in the article where the singer says it's about being suspicious of both mainstream and alternative culture), but it's just a great, great pop song, IMO. Still holds up,

Good synopsis - such as great idea, so much potential in places, so inconsequential in total. Still, i admire this kind of failure so much more than much of what I see coming out of Hollywood.

I bought Google Cardboard and played around with that for a bit. At $15, it was an awesome buy. Anything higher, price-wise, and I would've been a little disappointed. Still, it was the highlight of the week. I've only used the Cardboard app, a Google Maps thing, and played a game called Sisters. I've also continued

It does have a Lost vibe (and even a cast member). It's like they added some awesome parts of Lost to an already good show and were able to do it in a pretty unobtrusive way. I got hooked early in Season One. I think it's one of those shows where you figure out pretty quickly if it's your thing or not.

Agreed, but are there more of them to receive those big releases?

Season 2 of The 100 came out yesterday, so I started that. I quickly realized that I needed to go back and review Season 1 before going forward. It's a great show - one that should receive a little more attention, IMO. I also played a little more of Catherine and now see what people mean when they complain about the

At under $20, it's a no-brainer. I can see people not liking it, but if you read a little bit about it and are intrigued, it's well worth the time & money.

This weekend I watched the first two episodes of Dark Matter on Netflix. Didn't binge on it, so I can't say it's great, but it's sort of like a Firefly type of show, There are some obvious nods (the mercenaries, the River character, the Jayne character, etc. etc.). Lower budget, a bit cliche in some areas, but

Like some others have said, I was expecting more Caddyshack/Meatballs/WHAS, but was instead really surprised and happy to see something a bit more muted. It feels more like an actual 80s vibe rather than a tribute.

As far as food blogs go, I really love http://smittenkitchen.com. Well written, easy to follow, nice page design, and really good recipes designed for a pretty small kitchen.

I remember really wanting to buy this, but balking at the price tag. Amazon now has it for $20. Is it a "strong buy" or just a good game?

I lived in Portland during that time and saw Heatmiser and Quasi at a local show. There were a lot of great bands in PDX at the time - Slowface was one I remember in particular. Looking forward to reading the article.

I;m curious about the dictionary thing too. It sounds plausible.

Listening to Nebraska for the first time was an incredible experience - great disc.

Looks fun, but that price is sort of a deal-killer. Seems like something I'd buy for about $20, though.

Yes, they are. However, the books are many pages long, and this interview is just a few paragraphs. Just because you like "The State I Am In" doesn't mean that you'd like the entire Belle & Sebastian catalog.

I'm going to second the Doom 3 nod from above. I don't remember much about that game, but that part is pretty memorable and really made me laugh.

I read Head Full of Ghosts. It was good, but I wanted something a bit more. I began a replay of Oblivion and found myself underwhelmed. The storyline & graphics were better than I remembered, but the mechanics were all glitchy and not at all pleasant. I also heard, over and over again, the My Little Pony: Equestria

I watched the Last Unicorn with my wife & four-year old on account of the recent AV Club article. I had remembered it as being sort of existentially scary & depressing. Parts of it were, I suppose, but it was a really sweet & ultimately hopeful movie. There aren't a lot of movies that deal with complex themes in a

Did Metallica sue its fans after the concert? Because that's all I ever think of when I think of Metallica.
