At this point I think I’d be more surprised to learn that a male musician famous before the year 2000 didn’t rape anyone. “Weird” Al and Raffi excepted . . . I hope . . .

Please do not compare the collective punishment of a captives peoples who are being bombed, starved, shot, burned and denied medical care to what’s happening in the US. What we’re dealing with here sucks, but it’s apples to bowling balls.

Yeah, there’s a strong whiff of Freedom Fries about this.

I’m wondering if an exec over at Spygate may be a militant pro-Israel person. Her comment can be seen as reasonable by most people but there is a minority of people who believe Israel not only has the right but the duty to respond to any threat with disproportionate violence back. Some are even proud of it.

I hope she has Natalie Maines singing “Not Ready to Make Nice” on a loop right now.

Straw man defense. People outraged over the indiscriminate bombing campaign is not what I take issue with. It’s an atrocity that is indefensible. People taking sharp political sides in the conflict without actually understanding the history involved is what I think is foolish, and they reveal their ignorance of it

She should not have been let go for her comments, but I’m seeing a lot of younger people on social media, including my relatives, speaking up on this conflict without any deep understanding of it. All they see are brown people being bombed and that feeds into some preconceived notions of ‘colonialism bad’ and so they e

I liked it a lot better when I didn’t know who any of these people were.

I feel so bad for him. On one of the pictures he put up on Twitter, he responded to someone’s condolences just saying “I’m suffering” and it was such a stark and bare phrase, so devoid of any kind of linguistic flourish or phrasing that it absolutely broke my heart. Dana Carvey is suffering and it makes me very sad.

So ...Edibles it is then.

Elder abuse is no joke.

Well perhaps the ‘Congressmen’ is ignorant and/or deliberately ignoring the fact that the FTC and DOJ, as well as the IRS *DO NOT* write the tax laws. They merely *ENFORCE* the existing tax laws. Congress WRITES THE TAX LAWS.

Seems like a stretch.

Unfortunately, over the last generation or two Congress has done a great job convincing the American people that  it can’t control anything. We assume anything more ambitious than “keep payroll going” is beyond their jurisdiction.

I’ll applaud any time Congress gets off its collective ass to do anything that isn’t blatantly self-serving and/or detrimental to the country as a whole, so let’s just call this one a win.

The real risk would be the movie then taking off and making a couple hundred million or something, which’d make Zaslav et al. look really stupid.

“Bullied” is a really weird word choice in this context...

Seriously. I can’t imagine what this guy’s underage body count from that era would be.

To me, this sounds way more like Old Paul than Less Old Paul.

Years ago I was on a long drive with my older brother, who had never listened to “Plastic Ono Band.” About halfway through Working Class Hero, he was like, “It’s not exactly Twist and Shout, is it?”
