Was there not a similar dynamic in Beautiful Girls, but in a light-hearted, small town comedy sort of way? I believe Portman’s character refers to herself as an “old soul” so that’s, you know, not great.  Too bad she seems to have served as an outlet for a certain stripe of creepy adult fantasy at that point in her

The only Star Wars show I finished then immediately wanted to watch again. It took a template and ran with it brilliantly while still maintaining the franchise’s sense of identity. The Last Jedi is an admirable Star Wars outlier that provides good food for thought, but I can see how a lot of people thought it didn’t

Loved that woman.

Given that the first movie was Raymond Chandler pastiche/parody, you’d have to mine those vaults for plot points.  Which is a good source.

Agreed. It’s pure catharsis justified by three movies of build up (and even if that build up wasn’t planned, it works). I feel like most people who really enjoy Bond enjoy Octopussy. It’s not for casual fans, people who only enjoy the best of the series. It’s for people who find putting on a random Bond movie to be a comforting experience, who really like the thing itself and are willing to take the lesser entries at their strengths.

Weird then that Tomorrow Never Dies looks distinctly cheaper than Goldeneye.  They had the money, they just didn’t care as much.

My nostalgia stuff stops in 1995.  Thus it is, thus it will always be.

Good.  Shoot the bastard.

I’ve lost the thread, why do people dislike him? He was mean to a waiter?  I mean fine, string him up, I just wanted to clarify.

I don’t like pot anymore. I harsh my own buzz with my anxieties. Yes, it’s thought provoking, but I’m not able to process or put any thoughts into action because I’m, you know, high. It’s like all the worst parts of having an open mind without the benefits. I like it a little with a little wine, but then you get into

I enjoyed the 2013 movie and feel the need to point out this website gave it the exact same grade as this new movie back in the day.
