Listening to Truth for the first time as I type. Gotta say, for anyone who likes this kind of music, warm, heavy, graceful hard rock, it’s got the stuff. Anything with Nicky Hopkins during that period really. RIP, Mr. Beck. I’ll have to dig into your catalogue a bit. But I’ll skip the Depp album if you don’t mind.

“I can’t think of a better place to spend the next 20 years than in the world of a Sondheim musical.”

It’s a thing now where you have to balance representation in casting with accurate portrayals of history. It doesn’t matter in something like The Green Knight where you might complain about medieval England not actually being diverse as the cast except that it’s a fantasy and you can do whatever you want with it.  But

That happens in movies a lot, where anyone who works for the government, the science/medical fields, or human services is vilified for doing what would be entirely normal and/or professionally required in whatever situation.

Oh thank God.  We all desperately needed more Boomer nostalgia.

And the 2010 NOES made me want to quit watching movies, so there ya go.

Sadly I’m fighting off a mutiny from my own personal extremist factions. We’ll get there so long as I give up my deeply held principles though, so don’t worry.

IN. THE. SENSE. THAT. MOST. WILLING. ADULTS. SUCK. AND. THE. SENSE. THAT. WE. SHOULD. ONLY. HAVE. SEX. WITH. THEM. TOTALLY. WITH. YOU.

Well I for one am totally outraged by/fine with this, depending on what everyone else in the comments section thinks.  And I stand by that.

Just bring back the goddamn cartoons you soulless monsters.

And just as a reminder, women don’t get woolly. Nobody gets woolly.

This is disgusting. The thing is, if you wanted to cut down on this particular content, there’s a thoughtful way to do it. There’s plenty of material, particularly from the 30s and late 60s, that is of purely historical interest. No one’s clamoring for Bosko cartoons or late Speedy Gonzales. Honestly, if you asked me

You are welcome. She also apparently played Mother Theresa twice in two different things, so that is also a fact. I myself always conflate her with early 70s Jane Seymour.

Welp, Black Christmas is an acknowledged classic of the horror genre, being in a classic is generally considered a good thing for an actor and, so help me, I like it when good things happen to people!

God, was she really 15?  That ain’t good.  Hope they get something out of this. Sorry it impacted their careers, though I’m glad Hussey got one more classic under her belt with Black Christmas.

Just to say, knowing a lot about this guy will NEVER be a substitute for moral fibre.

For those who don’t get this, Walters interviewed Katherine Hepburn in 1981 and asked her what kind of tree she’d like to be, following a comment by Hepburn in which she compared herself to a tree. She answer was an oak. The question was widely mocked. For people growing up in the 80s, this was not a deep cut, it was

Funny how?

Objectively, no.  I’ll take that feedback.

I thought he said the pilot was alright Spider.  No no, I thought YOU said you thought the pilot was alright Spider.  No no...
