How is New York, New York? That’s a corner of Scorcese canon I’ve never dusted off.

I’d be tempted to spit if I wasn’t so ladylike.
That’s both gross and very impressive. Which is show biz in a nutshell I guess.
Too bad Mick, we’ll miss you.
I’m tired of this debate. Split the difference, give it to Serial Mom, and be done with it.
This exact thing happens to me at least twice a week. I’ve never thought of capitalizing on it though. I mean, Tom and I pretty close, so I don’t want to do him dirty. He always forgets my name and acts like it’s the first time, but still.
“Dearly beloved, we gathered here today on this joyous occasion to witness Princess Vespa, daughter of King Roland, going RIGHT PAST THE ALTAR, HEADING DOWN THE RAMP, AND OUT THE DOOR!”
The tone here is a little weird. It’s not a given that everyone who reads the AV Club hated Joker. I thought it was kind of dumb in some ways, pretty effective in others. I don’t think it needs a sequel and I have a bad feeling whatever they do will augment the worst aspects of the first movie and (further) taint…
I generally don’t plan to drop things. Just sort of happens. But I guess you can do it this way too. Regardless, I think they should consider being more careful with this song if it’s so important to them.
My money’s on Cox biting it. Maybe Sidney, but my guess is they’ll follow the Star Wars model of legacy sequels where they “resolve” the “arc” of one classic character per movie.
Jesus Christ, I even thought of responding with a Doonesbury cartoon.
If you squint, Sara can pass for Angelica Houston in The Grifters. Whereas the opossum is just a straight up Cusack lookalike.
It’s funny, I recently spoke with a trans person from Colombia who had a somewhat similar experience. This particular person is very kind, very active in a lot of communities that deal with different forms of oppression, very sensitive to what other trans people and, really, all kinds of people go through when they’re…
They know they love him, and they CAN take this. They love him and they’re playing for keeps. Although they need him, they ARE gonna make this.
It is what it is, but that’s still crazy to me. It’s a franchise based on an interracial (interspecies, whatever) utopian ideal. OK, yes, the white guys are still disproportionately in charge, so that signaling is still very much there. Still, it’s just insane a person can become a Star Trek fan and not pick up on one…
NOTHING! THAT LOOKS DISGUSTING! GOOD DAY TO YOU!!!!
Imagine if Ed Helms ever grew a mustache and stood next to Jason Sudeikis? My brain would literally explode.

Sounds like the Byrds, man.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but in this context it would work if he said, “Girl, we couldn’t get much HIGHER!”
