Minor quibble: ESPN carried all nine days of the event live on ESPN3. Today’s airing was an edited highlight show.

There was only one music store in the town where I lived (other than Wal-Mart), and I ran into three different people I hadn’t seen in forever (including the cool older college couple everyone worshiped) filing in and out of the store to make our purchase, everyone with giant smiles.

Alright, I’ll tell my story. I was super into Pearl Jam after Ten, and actively disliked STP when Core came out, but there was a month period there when even though I was anti-STP in the way only a dumb kid can be opposed to a band, I looked forward to Wicked Garden coming on the radio at the shop where I worked and

For a 90s high schooler, the wait from discovering Ten as a freshman to Vs. as a junior was interminable, and Core filled the gap.

I like that this goodbye allowed Leitch to use We non-royally.

I recently tried a re-watch of Season 1 of the Sopranos and it doesn’t hold up as well as I remembered. But, in 1999, i would never have dreamed of re-watching a show from 1983 for anything other than nostalgia and The Sopranos does supply much more than that, even after 16 years.

I entered the workforce in the late 90s, which was the peak time for mid-managers to act like total assholes based off reading an SI article about Jordan’s competitiveness.

I recently finished City on Fire as an audiobook. It was fine, but if you plan to only read one doorstopper this year, I preferred reading Hanya Yanagihara’s A Little Life, and would recommend it to any fiction lover.

Oh man. After seeing the Thanksgiving special last year I looked up Peanuts on YouTube for my kids and that’s the one we saw. Almost ruined the holiday.

“See!?!!! Seeeeeeeee!!!???!!!”

Oh yeah! I forgot to add. You haven’t seen the movie yet? WTF is wrong with you?

I agree with Erg. But the Coen Easter eggs throughout are blast. Also, throughout both seasons, there are echoes of many the Coen’s movies, most notably A Serious Man and The Man Who Wasn’t There.

Never change, Yinzers.

Thank you. It’s a fucking Dave Barry joke.

I think so. Frank Thomas set the recent precedent for first ballot status here.

A.J. ruined Deadspin, as Leitch would have not allowed this to run without a plausibly deniable Dick Pound reference.

Whenever I come across clips from these streamed (presumably) tricaster-produced games, they always have that exact shot of the stands from that angle. It always looks awful.

Seems especially like a waste to use that on a two point conversion and not a fake field goal attempt to get a touchdown out of it.

I’ve heard that complaint about Wolf Hall a ton. I listened to it as an audiobook and completely missed that as a potential problem because the narrator was great.

Thanks for this. I really enjoyed this book, even though I had to read it extremely slowly to keep track of everything going on.
