This was tried during or after WW II on a B29 Bomber. They molded little flaps into the tire sidewalls to spin up the tires in flight.

This will feel a bit like how ailerons behave in a small airplane (which, unironically, use yokes, and, usually, are around 180 degrees lock to lock). When airspeed is low, large displacement of the control surfaces is needed to get a reaction.
