Its a less popular show, but I was always a fan of Dr. Tom from “Being Erica”.
His big focus with Erica seemed to be helping her to accept what had happened in her life without being defined by it. Which he did with magical timey-wimey 90s flashbacks.
Too bad his group therapy sessions were so dramatically disappointing.

This.
If you are making Seattle money in rural Iowa you are probably way ahead. If you are making rural Iowa money in rural Iowa the cost of living is more or less a wash.
The one exception is that set-price consumer goods are a higher effective cost if you are making rural Iowa money. An Ipad costs as much in Seattle

It is. Life would be better for some if they accept they are never going to be made right and hoping for it is going to make their lives worse.
It also led me to the insight that it doesn’t actually matter if the person who wronged you is alive or dead. *You* are the one that has to let it go.
I applied that to my own

When I was younger I had a job where I moved between Dr. Offices all day long. I had about a dozen, and I would check in at 2-3 a day.
The biggest thing I took from it was how much culture affects your job. All the offices I checked in on did more or less the same kind of work, they had similar patients, and they all

This.
I have family that are angry at other relatives who have been dead for decades. If the dead relative’s name comes up these people will still rage at something done before I was born.

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

Try “The Garage” in New Brighton. They have always been very honest with me. They aren’t a cut-rate operation, but I’ve also never felt like they recommended any work that wasn’t needed.
They are a smaller operation, just one location, and the owner is there most days.

Well, we don’t really have any non-speculative info on what is going to be different about the new models. Right now we have lots of re-reporting on one New York Times article based on off the record discussions with suppliers.
Lots of people are reading all kinds of things into some scant info.  Personally, I’m

I feel like this article loses it’s thread 3/4 of the way through. It starts out as a pretty good examination of how the cold-war helped inform Marvel Comics, then touches on how the characters moved on from the Cold-War, then turns into a weird digression on how comic-book time is weird in the real world.
Which is

They are very, very good at getting you to buy multiple copies of their stuff.  Please don’t ask me how many DSes I own.....

When I saw the switch announcement my honest reaction was “that looks super cool, I’ll see if it lives long enough to get a hardware revision. If it does, and my friends are still playing, I’m in”
In this era of more or less guaranteed hardware updates I avoid v 1.0. It keep me off of lots of failed platforms. I have

They are spending a ton of money advertising the “switch” name. They are not going to change up the branding unless they are totally breaking compatibility.
There will be a name like “Switch X” or “Switch jr” or something, but calling it anything other than “Switch” is just going to confuse their customers.

That place seems pretty violent, we are in there for like 5 min and a guy gets shot & another guy gets his arm chopped off by some old geezer.
Also, I’m not sure if my smartphone would violate the “no droids” policy.

Several other commentators have mentioned the same thing I discovered helped me out a lot: Just uninstall all the social media apps. If you really need to check Facebook on your phone for some reason, just open a browser and go there. Do *NOT* let anything push anything to you via the browser. You can still do all the

Laws aren’t about what is justified. They are about what serves the powerful and appeases the plentiful.
Drugs=Bad, so you can do whatever you want to drug users in the name of fighting the bad things.

I would hope not, but not doing anything and hoping things change hasn’t worked either.
I have seen one toxic person kill a community over and over and over again.  Nobody wants to be mean to them, but then everyone just leaves rather than deal with them.  That toxic person and the three people that can stand him end

If only he could have defeated Thomas Midgley Jr, the man who proved you don’t need an Infinity Gauntlet to really jack up the world.

A buddy of mine who used to be really into Boxing used to say that the part of boxing that built character was the part where you went out & got beat down and there was nothing you could do about it.
His theory was that most people have this inner monologue where they say “sure, I might lose a bar fight, but if it

“Did you know that if you take evangelicals out of the equation, white women voted for Clinton by a large margin?”

My mothers’s family had a farm outside a small community in Western Iowa for 3 generations before she and her siblings all moved out.
Some research uncovered that almost their entire county had been given as land grants to Civil War soldiers in lieu of back pay. Most of the solders didn’t want to leave their lives to
