TPM had pretty much the same exact reactions. We’ll see how this ages.

WTF? Whatever you say you white hood wearing little shit bag.

Based on what fits the audience.

To be fair America is more cultural amalgamation than appropriation. Saying that we appropriate other cultures is a disservice to the actual cultural complexity of the U.S.

Well...maybe that part of Alien shouldn’t have hit the cutting room floor then.

Kill Bill works because it doesn’t try not to be an exploitation film(s). Kinda like Black Dynamite.

“Danny Rand was an outsider in K’un-Lun, in the comics, because he was not from K’un-Lun (or that larger mystical world). The Not One Of Us is not tied to being white. This point is separate and apart from his relationships back in the US — which I address in other points. The theme is being an outsider to that world.

Good to know but so far only your argument about racial demographics and wealth actually works.

Peter could be black and Miles can be hispanic. Passing the torch still works. No one has to be white just for the sake of being white.

Dude, I’ve read like this whole thread. Yes, I’m calling it. You’re racist.

I might have gone with reverse appropriation. I’m not seeing reverse discrimination though. After all, the following are all already whiteys: Iron Man, Hawkeye, Cap, Bucky, Hulk, Coulson, Daredevil, Starlord, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man. I’m not seeing where changing the race actually impacts the story in a negative way.

Even if true, this is a bullshit excuse. Racism by apathy is still racism.

But you don’t think it’s pointless or you wouldn’t be arguing so hard against it. Face it. You are, in fact, more than a little racist.

Other than the fact that this (“In the US, Wealth is not as exclusive to white people as it once was.”) is not actually the case, spot on.

Not seeing it. Also not seeing you not being racist.

I know that that bit of whitewashing made me not want to see the movie as much... :/

What you miss is that it isn’t change for the sake of change.

If this weren’t the case Jack would never get knocked out during the major battle.

I suddenly feel vindicated for skipping those movies.

The implication is that she isn’t even human but some kind of demon.
