This was, weirdly enough, my first exposure to “the Beach Boys as serious artists”. I grew up in the 80’s and was aware of The Mike Love traveling dinosaur act version of the group and Koko was inescapable for several months in 1987.

This shows’ biggest problem was it’s stubborn insistence at telling 8 episodes worth of Neegan story over 32 episodes, and refusal to recognize “perhaps people actually hate this” when it dumped over 60% of its audience in 2 years.

There are a few times when news of a celebrity’s death hits me like a ton of bricks.  Even though ALS is a muthefucker and this was not unexpected I’m still super bummed by this.  The first three seasons + movie are virtually the entire reason this show is still the (deserved) juggernaut it is today

In an alternate universe somewhere, where president Clinton is adjusting to the veto proof majority Republicans were handed in the Senate, despite surviving three impeachment votes in her first two years in office (in this universe Susan Collins has a spine)

I think the biggest problem is they aimed for a B- instead of an A+.

Easily the most FUN episode this season, even if two people were senselessly murdered by bubble wrap and it’s message was kind of muddled.

It.......really wasn’t THAT bad. They’ve done “song no one actually knows before” but everyone was into it and sold it to the fullest. Space lab explosion was dopey but fun. Carell was pretty much limited to playing weird dads (I keep forgetting he’s FIFTY SIX now). Heidi Gardner is going to be a star

Literally the entire reason this bullshit exists is so that they can try and marginalize her early, lest she actually prove to be an effective leader and *gasp* “raising taxes on the rich to pay for things” proves popular.  

One can only hope he continues to get angry, depressed, and pants wettingly scared of being shown to be a failure for the 42nd time in his life and bails before election season (I seriously doubt it though- he’d NEVER give up the nazi rallies)

I think in some respects sincerity is something Sunny has always trafficked in. All of the characters are awful pieces of shit, but they’re sincerely awful pieces of shit. Part of the reason it’s hilarious watching them fall flat on their faces is they have hopes, dreams, and beliefs- they just always make the wrong…
