I don’t think he is necessarily wrong about what things will be like in 2030 in some states and countries. The shift to EVs becoming the standard, and ICE vehicles becoming a small, enthusiast niche, seems somewhat inevitable. However, there is a long way to go before we get to that reality, right now EVs are just

I did not. The headline read “

Gas-optional is great. Electricity only (no option) is not great. I don’t have range anxiety and would be happy with an EV that only went 150 miles on a charge IF I knew I could count on charge stations that were as common as gas stations. But they aren’t. And when you do find one it’s in some God-forsaken corner of

I think CEO pay is worth a talk, but not just for union shops.  The way that CEO pay is made and how they determine bonuses and the like is divorced from reality.  The fact that the board of directors, which are all CEOs of other companies set the pay of the CEO and that that guy/gal votes on the pay of the people

They are regulatory subsidies; the word subsidy works just fine.

Maybe, but having owned a few BMWs I kinda like the idea of getting my car serviced at a not-so-wallet-emptying Chevrolet dealership.

If you’re old enough, all prices are ridiculous:  I’m old enough.

The dealers have pointed to a lack of demand for less-than-affluent customers”

I’m sure they could, but a big portion of their GDP goes directly to the federal government and then to the southern states that run deficits every year

I can’t figure out why schools are on the list.  At least in America, the last place you would find a Nazi is a school.

Never figured? They never cared. Top level executives get paid for profits in the last quarter not profits in the next few years. They ripped as much profit as they could and when things turn South as they always do they’ll walk away and be a top level executive in another company.

There’s no way he crashed in that aircraft.

Does Taylor Swift bear any responsibility for her fans encroaching on a friend’s special day?

Again with the ‘boomers’?  Dude - get a hobby.  The fixation is kinda troubling.

It’s not a “boomer” thing at all. It’s a human thing. Most of us value the past. And things of historical significance take on additional value. That’s why we have museums. That’s why antiques and vintage [things] are in demand - even among Gen X, Millenials and Gen Z’ers.

Forgot about Jan 6th, did you?

If you’re all about fairness and sustainability, I guess you would then support a carbon tax to pay for the environmental damages done by burning fossil fuels right?

On one hand, you have a point, and that taxes will need to be re-evaluated at some point regarding EVs. On the other, this all reeks of culture war bullshit.

.....the damage to the roads is done by overweight trucks.  TX going to increase fines for that?  Going to guess not.

The fact that this was a Nissan store is a total shock...
