What I find even more interesting than her choice of projects is how a lot of them have this long wait between announcement, making the festival rounds and (quietly) released to the general public, this being just the latest example. Even her most high-profile film, the YA rite-of-passage Fallen, took nearly two

Still her best film by far.

Wow, I didn’t think I’d run into anyone who had seen Cop!

After seeing ads for the Season 3 premiere, I checked out StartUp on Sony’s Crackle service. Two episodes in and I’m hooked - you could sum it up as Breaking Bad for the BitCoin age, but it’s smart, confident and compelling. And while all the actors are good, Martin Freeman is genius. It’s one of the best shows

Honestly, that’s part of the appeal for me. Unlike some of his contemporaries, Jean-Claude Van Damme knew (or I hope he did) that he wasn’t really suited for the A-list. I love his work to bits, but no one would ever take him seriously as a true thespian. So he’s strictly B-level, but he gives damn good B-level.

Normally I’d tell you it’s as simple as one reviewer having an opinion and another reviewer having a different opinion, which, you know, happens.

As messy as Alien3 is, I was impressed by how dark it was willing to go, ending with what you could call an attempt to kill the franchise off.

I think in this case she’s called a “star” of BR2049 because that’s by far her most high-profile film (three short scenes or otherwise), whereas she’s an “alum” of HaCF because the show (little-seen but still her biggest showcase) is over - hence, here’s her looking for her next job and there’s James Cameron looking

Gosh, Blade Runner, Terminator...sign her on to some Alien and Predator sequels and that’s like half the sci-fi genre taken care of.

I like Ms. Davis too, and I had the exact same thought you did.
