FIXING something is NOT the same task as CLEANING something. You know why? Because cleaning up after yourself is expected of adults - and even CHILDREN - and forcing anyone else to clean up after you is forcing them to act as if they’re lower status than you - as if they’re time is worth less than yours.

What everyone’s missing here, including the author is: it’s really a STATUS issue. Men are ALL about status. They compete in EVERY category - with EVERYONE. And in the male world view, cleaning is a low status job. Arguably a the lowest - and it SERVES the other people in the house - it’s SERVILE. On the other hand,

Aw, that was nice of you to make that GIF :)

Wow - he played you from the start. The best thing I would suggest is: assume men are competitive, and that they think it’s fair game to use you at work to get ahead. Get yourself a good shrink and a career coach & forget about that idiot. He’ll be found out eventually by a much bigger fish.

Ladies, ladies. Come on now. There is no such thing today as a “long distance replationship.” That is in and of itself a complete oxymoron. The truth of the matter is that, in an actual relationship, after a FEW months, one person or the other DECIDES to be with the other. TOGETHER. Otherwise - you BREAK UP and see

To keep it from smelling, be sure to keep liquids out of the loo. Any pee should go directly into the woods, garden, etc. That goes for girls too (use a quart container and pour it out, then rinse or spray the container with windex... or try using a long plastic funnel. There are also burningman-type products made

That’s like answering the phone with a racist rant. But, you know, ridiculing women is great, right?

How does this guy even get a choice? Lawyer up and sue this guy’s ass into the next state!

First of all, I wish I could fix this for you. I hate all of this - what happened to you, to the other women - and no doubt there are even more volunteer victims than the 33% rate you reported. (Man, even that is crazy high! Peace Corps should not even be sending women there in that case. And they themselves should

Tay's right... read it & weep

"Two years later, when the studio came back with a sequel, they wanted to offer us exactly the same deal. We went back to ground zero. Had three men come in there, they would have upped their salaries without even thinking about it. "

I think I'll read both authors before I comment further

See the difference here? He threw out his expensive watch because he valued his time - and he demonstrated it.

Of course he's just as competent. He just pretends he isn't, to shirk the low-status tasks and get some chick to do them. Oldest trick in the book.

Can't you ding the temp to his staffing agency for that? Also, to the HR staffer at your firm who hired him.

Not only that, but movies are MEDIA - they demonstrate what society expects and enforces re women. How women are represented in media MATTERS.

It's not either/or - it's both. Teach men to pick up their end of the responsibility, and girls/women - STOP doing more than your OWN work.

I hope you just refuse next time.

Drop their dirty coffee cups off in the mens' bathroom ;) I would!!

Yes well - his was the "Oh gee, I 'll just act helpless, and leave it a mess until SHE does it. Heh heh."
